Description

Update*

Currently over clocked to 4.2ghz

Changed some of the cables and made everything much neater (show in 5th and 6th photo)

Im going to buy two more fans to replace the stock fans on the Corsair H100i (since the stock fans are noisy considering everything else is dead quite). Picture 7 shows stock fans

Update* 26/11

Got the new fans and installed them, hopefully i wont have to change anything else for a while, it was pretty annoying uninstalling the olds ones because of the cables that had to be re-routed. i added two more photos to show the new fans.

Benny and the Jets. nice build.

H100i has noisy fans and everyone replaces them..not sure why Corsair can't fix this.

Yeah, I only really noticed them recently, even when all the case fans are on full speed, those corsair fans are probable still louder by a bit.

It's easy enough to buy some Corsair AF fans to fix it, but thats another $30. Really wish a $100 water cooler could be better.

just ordered a pair of Gelid wing led fans, they look really cool and they should perform really well. They're in the parts list now.

Never mind, those fans went out of stock, im probably gonna get the Corsair SP fans, since i want static pressure more than airflow, do you know if it would be better to get performance edition or quite edition?

Awesome build, what kind of keyboard are you using?

Thanks. Its the non-slip version of the Razer Lycosa. Good looking keyboard, although the media buttons (buttons on top right) are a bit glitchy. that could just be mine tho.

I don't really know, sorry. we had this desk for a while but didn't have anyway to put it, but now we do. :)

Should have picked up the processor at Micro Center, would've saved 15 bucks for the case fans.

We don't have micro centers in Australia. that's also why all the parts are more expensive. :(

I am sort of new to computers and i am going to build my first soon; how did you configure those two 200m fans on top of that h100i? and also, where did you put all those extra fans you purchased?

The fist 200mm fan came with the case already installed, and since i was going to get that corsair h100, i decided to get another 200mm so the airflow would be better, i also got a 140mm fan for the front, i probably don't need it tho, since the the case also came with 2 120mm on the side.

I installed the other 200mm first and then later mounted the h100i using the L-brackets that it comes with. (it explains how to in the case Manuel) those corsair fan in the part list i bought recently, they replaced the noisy fans that come with the h100i. If you're going to buy a h100 and you care about noise, i would buy fans to replace the stock ones.

I'm in the process of choosing parts for my first build and was wondering, is it better to have the 200mm and 120mm(connected to the h100i) fans or just the 200mm fans as i would have thought that the 120mm fans would affect the cooling of the 200mm fans

You definitely need the two 120mm fans on the cooler. the 200mm aren't directly on the cooler, there is like a 1cm gap (see the 2nd last and last photo) so the 200mm by themselves aren't good. the 2 200mm's are there because it came with one already and i added another one for even airflow.

Good luck with your build.

Thanks for the reply, I see now what you did with the two 120mm fans it was because I couldn't see it in the pictures.

and enjoy your awesome build :D

From What is the corsair cooler connected to ?

You screw on a L-bracket that comes with the case, it like hangs the cooler just below the 200mm fans. Check the last and 2nd last photo. :)
