Description

Against recommendations, decided to upgrade my old PC. My old case had heaps of unused space as I superseded hard drive storage. Also takes up way too much desk space. I have noticed a bottleneck in some games so have also decided to watercool my CPU to get a bit more juice out of her. I bought a NZXT h510i and a Kraken x62.

  • First minor hitch was my motherboard does not have a USB type C port for the front of the PC. No biggie, I'll buy a PCIE adapter in the future if I find I need it.
  • Second hitch (medium-sized). Went to plug my peripherals in at the end of the build to see if she would fire up... and turns out I had not taken the IO shield out of my old case... I tried to slot it in down the side, was not going to happen. Going to have to put it in... another day...

Managed a nice stable overclock: 4.6ghz @1.275V Could definitely go higher, but might wait a few weeks and see how she fares after some extended gaming sessions.

Great looking setup! I feel your pain on leaving the back I/O panel out.
