Build

First build, What do I call it -.-

by xAustinx

Description

Worked well... Want to water cool in near future and tidy up some wires possibly switch cases.

-- Asked to put manual up, Very small mobo Sorry for lack of Organizing the case doesn't offer a lot of room on the back side and the wires are not very long on the PSU

--Edit, Have found a page where it tells you what goes where for the Power switch, Rst Sw, ect..

Part Reviews

CPU

Pretty decent right now not much negative besides it gets a little hot with air cooling - switching to water cooling soon.

Motherboard

Little confused at first in the BIOS, but worked my way around it. Let me tell you if you haven't built a computer before the instructions for this MB are difficult to understand... (Where to put things) If asked i will put a picture up.

Memory

Easy to work with, sort of matched my color scheme

Storage

Came with 3 500GB SSD's... No one has asked for them back yet... Haven't paid for them +1 Thanks newegg?

Video Card

What can I say.... This GPU has been an absolute beast for the last couple of months I would say it is the best 750 you can get. Every game i have tried i have been able to put everything as high as it can go. I can mostly get a solid 30-60 FPS on Arma 3 Everything on ULTRA... I would recommend this GPU to anyone.

Case

Well... A good starter case, It is a little hard to work my way around cable management (Side view, you can see I couldn't reach some cables around because of where and how big the holes are.) It looks a little messy on my part. I forgot to look for modular PSU's.... (Detachable wires)

Power Supply

Nothing has blown up or shorted out yet... +1 If you can I would go for a at least 500-600v So then you don't constantly have to worry about how much power you are consuming from all your parts...

Operating System

Instantly went to win 10 lol

Wireless Network Adapter

Wow, i was a little worried if this could handle FPS's.... Let me tell you i will handle your needs... Watch how far you get away from your router though I have heard that makes a difference.

Case Fan

WRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

Fan Controller

Be prepared to have these baby's mostly cranked up... Yeah switching to water cooling soon...

WWWWWWWRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

Monitor

One is slightly taller? O well I love this monitor... I got two for 300$ and absolutely adore them...

Mouse

Has multi color.. I have a large hand and it fit nicely... Feels absolutely weird the first week you use it... You will sit down and be like "What am i holding." I can't tell the difference now... Has four DPI settings and a mostly used for google chrome buttons on the side.. (Forward is back and back is forward)

That power supply is pretty bad.

The 1 year warranty should tell you something, and I would recommend replacing it soon.

xAustinx submitter 1 Build 1 point 40 months ago

Yeah, I agree totaly I have never baught a PSU before so I hoped for the best... Have not blown up yet

johngerges582 1 point 40 months ago

It has an OEM of Deer.

Seriously replace that.

Vergere 7 Builds 2 points 40 months ago

may as well call it the Real American, with all that red, white, and blue.

Iceman320 1 Build 2 points 40 months ago

"Dashing Pluto" ? no idea I am really bad at naming things

crazychris4124 1 point 40 months ago

He actually said that he got 3 500 gb ssds with his hard drive because of an oopsie from newegg.

I acually ordered one 1 Tb HD, but I got that AND 3 SSD's that I didn't pay for... lol? - just to clean up confusion.

hobbesiberian 1 point 40 months ago

How are you running your 3 SSD's? In raid 0 or 1? Other than that, nice build. That CPU may bottleneck your GPU later if you ever upgrade to something 970+ level. Wish I had one of those SSD's. They are really nice!

hobbesiberian 1 point 40 months ago

Nooooooo. Not that video. I just watched that earlier. However, I just thought that an Athlon would create a performance limitation for a GTX 980, due to the CPU's inability to process so much graphics information.

johngerges582 1 point 40 months ago

For the most part with games, the gpu will do all the work.

I mean it really wouldn't make any sense to pair a $65 cpu with a $500 gpu, but whatever.

I think that the 860k and the 750ti is a great combination.

hobbesiberian 1 point 40 months ago

I agree

xAustinx submitter 1 Build 1 point 40 months ago

Not running 3 SSD's... running 1 1TB HD and 1 500g SSD, might put another in IF space gets low.

Mansive 1 point 40 months ago

Imo, I would remove the red stickers on the front. Ruins the white/blue theme of the build.

Hey, at least he has Athlon pride.

xAustinx submitter 1 Build 1 point 40 months ago

Lmao, Athlon baby <3

Godbee11 1 point 40 months ago

How is that 750 ti doing for you? Looking to get it as my first gpu for christmas

xAustinx submitter 1 Build 1 point 40 months ago

Awesome! Lol it is amazing in my opinion I would think it is the best 750 ti you can get but I am no expert. I would highly reccomend it.

Slopmeister 1 point 40 months ago

Would you explain why the motherboard was difficult to work with? I'm considering it for a potential build.

xAustinx submitter 1 Build 1 point 40 months ago

Not difficult, Just the manual is hard to read. where it tells you where your power button and reset switch go... But other wise it is a pretty good MB sorry for this misunderstanding

Slopmeister 1 point 40 months ago

Thank you for the reply. I might use this motherboard in my girlfriends Christmas PC.

xAustinx submitter 1 Build 1 point 37 months ago

Just found a page for it, Other wise if you know how to put it in your basically set. (Small Mobo Fyi)

gratefulned 1 point 34 months ago

Could you link to the page, or post pics of how yours are set up? I'm about to build my first pc using this MB and processor and I know there's a lot of confusing wires to plug in

xAustinx submitter 1 Build 1 point 29 months ago

Bump.

Wondering if you still need this.

SurvivorPig58 1 point 39 months ago

Can you put a picture up of the motherboard?

xAustinx submitter 1 Build 1 point 37 months ago

Putting up soon

xAustinx submitter 1 Build 1 point 37 months ago

Just put it up, As you can see it is a smaller mobo and it was my fault for picking the PSU that's not modular so it looks quite messy.

JustinnM8 1 point 37 months ago

Could you tell me how hard the bios setting is? Im gonna use this mobo and I dont wanna screw anything up. Any help is appreciated.

xAustinx submitter 1 Build 1 point 37 months ago

Bios not hard just the manual is but BIOS is Fairly simple - pm if any questions

lins 1 point 37 months ago

I would really appreciate a picture of the mobo like you said in your review for it, i am planning to use this mobo soon.

xAustinx submitter 1 Build 1 point 37 months ago

Sure thing sorry for the delay have been busy

xAustinx submitter 1 Build 1 point 37 months ago

Just put it up, It is a quite small mobo and it was enough to fit my 750 in. Beware the Pci is quite close in my opinion because when I tried to put my sound card in and it was almost hitting my fans and blocking airflow so i took it out.

julianftw 1 point 36 months ago

Is that motherboard good for mild overclocking?Nice build btw,Only thing i would take out is the stickers in front....they do not match with the blue leds.AT ALLL. xD

xAustinx submitter 1 Build 1 point 36 months ago

Lol, Shhh I like the stickers

Ah I assume you mean overclocking the GPU, I couldn't tell you because my 750 ti can barely be over clocked.... I would guess so, I mean I have had no trouble with it atm...

bwag174 1 point 26 months ago

I do really enjoy the fan controller, it looks fantastic on your build.

SpikzeMC 0 points 40 months ago

Do you have a name for that computer?

Might I suggest, "Cool"? ;)

tiny_voices 4 Builds 0 points 40 months ago

I definitely agree that the PSU should be replaced. Rosewill is one of those companies who make some EXCELLENT top quality units and some utter crap. Unfortunately this one is utter crap. IT is only a 324w PSU and a VERY low quality one at that.

xAustinx submitter 1 Build 1 point 40 months ago

I got the 400w, there is two options when you add it to your cart I should have specified that but yeah it is a peice of crap and I will change it soon.

tiny_voices 4 Builds 1 point 40 months ago

YEah it is tier 5 for sure. I'd replace it ASAP.

JustinnM8 1 point 37 months ago

Um, so could you tell me how hard the bios setting is? It'll be my first pc, and I dont know what to do, or how to set up anything.

xAustinx submitter 1 Build 1 point 37 months ago

BIOS is not hard just manual ( Where to put wires), Other wise the mobo bios is fairly simple

xAustinx submitter 1 Build 1 point 37 months ago

It is fairly simple, Videos on it on youtube or elsewhere, But it is a basic BIOS, Just read the manual and find stuff as i couldn't find the Sys. Panel Header until I really looked into it.

JustinnM8 1 point 37 months ago

Okay, thanks so much. Sry I kept asking a bit xD

For once, the PSU messages are valid. I agree this time, it is pretty bad. And by pretty bad I mean putting a lit match on your desk pretty bad.

xAustinx submitter 1 Build 1 point 40 months ago

I agree, I was planing to get at least a 600 and a sound card in the near future
