Description

This new build for the purpose of gaming and GETTING RID OF THAT BLUE SCREEN I KEPT GETTING EVERY 5 MINS OF USING! .

I made my first PC about 2 years ago, It was an abomination caused by a lack of research and was limited by what was available, Now I took my time looking at the parts and revised them more than twice to make sure I didn't wast my money on something that wasn't going to last for more than 2 years.

Everything you see is bought from a local store, I would of order everything online and got with way more parts and for more cheaper price but when i saw how much the shipping will cost i almost give up on PC gaming.

So far its running GREAT and i had no problem with it and its running every game I throw at it perfectly !

The Parts:

CPU: Intel Core i5-4690K is a great processor for gaming and for the price its a great if you don't want to stream of do video editing.

CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Nepton 280L its a beast ! it preforms very well and keeping my CPU under 60° C at about 3.8GHz or something close and there isn't a lot of noise its not noticeable unless you cuddling with it, The only down side to this beast is the tubing I wish the tubes were more flexible.

Motherboard: MSI Z97-GAMING 7 A BEAUTIFUL motherboard and it have a lot of feature that i didn't even try ! The BIOS are easy for someone inexperienced like me :D, I wanted to go with the Gaming 5 but it wasn't available so i got the Gaming 7 it a bit pricey but will worth the money if you can get it.

Memory: Corsair Vengance, I all ways wanted to buy those for the looks and the performance and its Corsair Vengance you cant go wrong with that ! ( I'll be adding another 8GB in the future ).

Storage: Samsung 850 EVO-Series 250GB, I'V never tried SSDs before but now that i saw that they are very important for a better performance and how DAMN fast they are, I'll get me another 250GB in the future.

That WD drive is a great drive and its quite not like the blue one which makes drifting sounds! ill be adding another one when i get the Ram and the SSD.

Video Card: MSI GeForce GTX 970 4GB Twin Frozr V, Coming from GTX 650 2GB this thing BLOW my mind and that great performance im getting from it, I could of gone with the R9 390 but i wanted INVIDIA.

Case: Corsair Air 540 ATX Mid Tower, This case makes cable management a breeze! Plenty of room to work in, runs cool and quiet, But its totally not worth that pricey, The materials feels cheap and flimsy side panel makes me want to not open it and But don't know what they were thinking leaving the bottom open!

Power Supply: Corsair 750W, Fully modular, gold certified, A bit more wattage than I needed, but its good for future updates and a really good price.

Optical Drive: Asus, I took it from my old build nothing special.

Wireless Network Adapter: TP-Link TL-WN781N, it works and its greats, I wish i can use the Ethernet cable but its far from where the PC is :(.

Case Fans: Corsair Air Series AF120 Quiet Edition, THEY ARE QUITE and great air flow ( I might add the SP series for the CPU cooler in the future )

Thanks for reading and sorry for my bad English :3 I'll add better pictures and benchmarks , if you have any suggestion let me know :D

Decent build, not necessarily the most known reliable parts but should last you for quite a long time — more than two years for sure. You don't live in the US do you? The only reason I ask is that you said shipping was so high. I usually get shipping for free or >$10.

Yeah its not the best but for that price range its great

And yeah i don't live in the US

I agree with you there. How much was shipping on this haul?

If i wanted to get everything from amazon it would of cost me nothing less than 3000$ due to the shipping and wight because they even charge for that

Damn that shipping...i always forget how fortunate the US is here with shipping. And i get pissed off when i cant get it in less than 2 days for free -.-

Yeah its sad xD , and if you think 2 days is long time then how about waiting for more than 2 week and its not free

It's not bad at all. The only three issues i see, and most of them are minor, is the 1x8gb stick of ram, a WD green drive instead of blue or black, and the corsair PSU. Granted the corsair psu isn't really all that bad, and the others are more of just nit picky issues.

I'll be getting another 8GB stick and the WD Green isnt that bad its quite and i would of gotten the Black series but wasn't available and the PSU is good i dont know why people think its bad , the RM is new and still nothing bad about it

The RM series have had some reported reliability issues, but you should be fine. The main issue is that the fan engages at a certain wattage load, not temperature. As long as it stays cool it won't be a problem.

Yeah, get that other stick of ram and then you'll be able to dual channel. And some people actually prefer greens, I used them in a super silent build once, because they don't spin up until you actually use them, and the client absolutely wanted a HDD lol.

And what Punch said is true too, and they've addressed it. The new units have a different fan management system, so hopefully they shipped you a new unit. And if not there was a thread on the Corsair forums that was offering a free replacement for the older models

Im being positive about the PSU and its one of there newer units xP

I've had one of the older rm1000s for about a year and a half now and not a single issue. Even if you don't get one of the newer ones, you'll be fine.

If you overclock anything under 4.0ghz or under makes literally no difference in performance as the 4690k boost to 3.9ghz anyways. A decent overclock is 4.5ghz and a good one is 4.6gh

Anyways other than that the nepton is just an amazing cpu cooling series and everything else is also good.

i havent overclocked it yet, still new to all that overclocking thing and want to wait couple more weeks before doing it just to to get use to the parts and yeah the 280L is a BEAST
