Description

Everything I need to be a Star Citizen and enter into VR...

I should have spent more on the motherboard - had to add a USB3.0 card to support everything that will be plugged in. Sleeved cables would have been fantastic too, but I went a little bit way over budget.

I had been waiting for this build a long long time, and it was supposed to be in a Corsair C70 case with a custom loop, but the 540 was on sale for $100 and I thought it would look cool, and the hardware for the loop proved to be more than my wallet could bear.

I love it. The kids love it. The wife will learn to love it.

Indeed! I'm waiting to see what this next gen will actually deliver to see if I need to buy a water block or sell the 980ti and get Pascal somethingsomething...

I love it too! Those extra touches are really neat and help this build stand out. Great job.

I love all of the blue! My "color OCD" is pleased with the color consistency.

Dr.PC 2 points 38 months ago

Awesome build, I wish there were more blue and blacks like this!!!

bphyle submitter 1 Build 1 point 38 months ago

Ha, now that I think about it - the money I saved switching from smoking to vaping probably paid for the computer! I <3 vape.

How did you cover the drive bays at the bottom?

bphyle submitter 1 Build 0 points 38 months ago

I took a piece of cardboard and hot glued some felt onto it. I'm interested to see what it will look like in 3 months with the dust situation...

andymin000 1 Build 1 point 38 months ago

These usually have vents for air to escape out of. I don't know it it's a good idea to cover them up. Also, cardboard? It would probably keep heat inside your case. Probably doesn't make a huge difference, but it's a bit counterproductive.

bphyle submitter 1 Build 1 point 38 months ago

I am not overly concerned - I don't have drives under there so it's just covering up the ugly empty drive sleds. The 540 has crazy airflow!

Unuvailiable 2 Builds 1 point 38 months ago

Lol yeah it should get dusty quickly but atleast it looks nice

Rt796 1 point 32 months ago

man i love it

quakeguy 1 point 22 months ago

Beautiful build. I'm curious as to what that Squadron decal is? Is it custom made? Where did you get it?

bphyle submitter 1 Build 1 point 11 months ago

[10 months later]

That's a Squadron 42 patch I bought from Roberts Space Industries (Star Citizen) They don't sell them often but when the game is released I'm sure more will become available ;)

I just put it to 4.6GHz and it worked and I felt content... Maybe I will try to go higher later on, when it doesn't feel all new and shiny.

I do my best to show her I love her more, but I spend a loooot of time with the PC at night so..... =P
