Description

I built this mainly for gaming but i also use it as part of my college course, This wasn't a straight up build i had to put in together over a year and im still upgrading aspects of it, i also decided to modify the case by adding to flight style toggle switches to turn toggle my custom internal lighting (Blue LED Strips) also added a window for better aesthetics.

This is a pretty nice build but I just don't understand how you almost spent 2000$ but you got a Phenom II X6 processor. Not that it's bad but I just would think that for the money spent you would get something like an i5-3570k or a FX-8350. Otherwise, nice build. How's it running so far?

I don't count monitors and peripherals as apart of the build budget so technically it would've been around $1369.45 :P

Aside from that, the CPU was probably bought a long time ago

To be fair, there's about $650 in parts that are not normally taken into account, such as Windows, Monitors, Keyboard, and Mouse. That being said, the CPU was most likely the first part he purchased, sometime last year, when it was a very reasonable choice for a gaming system.

Ye your right i had it from an earlier build so i decided to save a bit of money buy reusing it

Ps. i am currently looking at an i7-3770k and an asus Sabertooth motherboard

It makes more sense if you had it from a previous build.

Anyways, don't get the i7-3770k if you will only be gaming. i7-3770k has no advantage in gaming over the i5-3570k. The hyperthreading of the i7-3770k is mainly helpful in programs like Photoshop, Adobe After Effects, etc.

As others have said, an i7-3770k won't benefit much in games, an i5-3570k would be more practical. But, if you just want an i7 for the hell of it, by all means go for it.

I went with the 3770k and Z77 Sabertooth, build isn't complete but I really like the mobo even though it is a little pricey

The lighting is Great! The amount of afterthought you put in after everything was put together is amazing!
