This is my first build and I wasn't really sure what were the good brands or parts. I don't play a lot of PC games but I wanted to have some decent stuff in case I wanted to in the future.
Nice build. However, I have a question. Why did you get the 4 GB 760? The 760 is not strong enough to utilize all that VRAM. Also, I feel like you should've gotten, let's say a B85 motherboard. With your locked i5, it was kind of unnecessary to get a Z87 motherboard.
I might've gone with an upper tier mobo for future upgrades, easier to swap a CPU than the set. At minimum I would've gotten a H87 for PCIe 3.0
Also, the 760 can make use of that much VRAM, but most games won't. Most.
I only got the extra vram because it was only $20 dollars more than the 2GB and that just sounded more appealing. I should have done more research.
For only $20 I would have done the same thing.
I love that case I have the same one!
After looking at yours, my first build looks like a piece of poo :(
Nice build. I like your selection of parts, but I felt you could have spent the extra $40 bucks for an i5-4670k, to make full use of the Z87 chipset.
Its because I had no clue what the "K" meant behind the numbers at the time I bought it lol
Good cable management bro.
I'd say it's great for a first Build with no experience at all except the GPU, the 760 can hardly even utilize 2 gigs of VRAM let alone 4. Other than the 4 gig version, great gpu choice ;) (I have the same version just in EVGA w/ ACX and dual BIOS in the 2 gig model)
Have the same case. While I love it, it's a pain to lug out to lan parties
Pretty decent build though, +1
You have good parts.
