Description

NZXT case has great cable management, allowing for a very clean build and a nice glass panel. The thumb screws has somewhat poor threads, making getting them started hard.

Sapphire Pulse is cool and quiet, however AMD drivers still seem to cause loss of display signal.

ASRock Mother board is nice, however have to exchange after dealing with customer service because fails to run RAM at full rated speed.

The EVGA power supply was on sale and a great deal. Very nice quality cables.

Fun project and really appreciate PC Part Picker helping make it easier.

Nice build. I'm actually planning on building a rig with similar specs to this, which will also be my very first PC build. Cheers to you.

Thanks. Black Friday was pretty good, at 160$ I moved up to the 2700x instead of 2600, which I think will add a lot more life to that processor. I just hope AMD keeps improving drivers for the 5700xt.

What frame rates are you getting in games?

Ghost Recon Breakpoint Very High, benchmarks at mid 80s. 1080p. I think COD MW is about 100fps.

I like your Bose speakers. They are very nice-looking!

Thanks, Best Buy rewards pretty much covered them, and unfortunately the LG monitor doesn’t have inter grated speakers.

But you now have much better sound because integrated monitor speakers are almost always very bad.

Yeah, exactly, forced me to get something good.

Great build! I accidentally got the 3800x with the 5700 xt and now I am not using the processor's full potential. I guess it's good just in case I ever buy like a 2080 super or something

Thanks! I’m thinking when Ryzen 4000 comes out later this year I’ll upgrade the motherboard and processor, and move the old stuff to a build for my kid.

Tried a few different keyboards, and I’m pretty happy with the K70 low profile, more ergonomic for me. Thanks!

Thanks! The NZXT was a nice improvement and made it look a bit cleaner than the Coolermaster Q300L I had first tried.

How did Asrock customer service respond to your memory issue with DIMMS that are not listed on their QVL?

The dimms were listed, so after some quick troubleshooting they approved a RMA.

Really awesome build, and a great setup to go along with it!

Thanks. Went back and forth as to 1440p upgrade on the monitor, but I think I’ll wait awhile. That monitor was under 200$ from Costco, so I think it was a steal with all the specs and features.

Have you tried not using the two front case fans? This case is designed to cool best with negative pressure with only the two rear fans set to exhaust. I have the same case and run it it like this. Adding fans at the front does not lower temperatures because of the restricted airflow at the front of the case.

Hows the monitor, I'm thinking of getting it!

How is the monitor

Monitor is pretty good deal. I got from Costco for 180$. Picture is good and had G-sync and Freesync. No speakers. I would like to get a higher resolution monitor though in the future.

I saw that they probably don’t help, but I already had them and I thought they helped fill out the case, and the lighting looks good through the side vents. Temps are good right now too, with very minimal fan settings. Mid 60s for cpu with Noctua cooler and 75 for gpu.

I agree that the case does feel a little empty without fans at the front and the lighting is a bonus. However I am trying to as quiet a build as possible so will do without them. Instead I added a couple of LED strips for lighting.
