Description

This pc is mainly built for gaming, but things like 3d modeling and 3d rendering will also be done on this rig, as well as a few adobe programms like Photoshop, Indesign and Illustrator.

A few main parts and why I chose them.

Cpu: chose Skylake i5 6600k, because of its low power consumption, overclockebility and I didn't want to spend more than €250 (and go for something like a i7 6700k). I also maneged to overclock it to 4.5 Ghz

Gpu: msi gtx 970, I knew that Nvidea would bring out a new line of gpu's, but here in The Netherlands the gtx 1060 is about €380, and I was able to get this gtx 970 for €250.

Cpu cooler: best cooler for the money in my opinion, and changed the Be Quiet fan with a Corsair sp120 quiet edition fan. decent overclocking is possible with this cooler and fan combo.

Ssd: system starts up in about 15 seconds and 250 gb is enough for my os and all my programms. Plus I have a 5 year warrenty on this thing.

Case: Amazing case by Phanteks. You get a lot for your money, like: -noise dampening foam on all of the sidepanels -multicolour leds built in -2x 120 fans -removable dust covers for the top -all intakes are filtered -easy cable magement -easy toolless harddrive cages

Mouse: I already owned it for my Lenovo y50 laptop and bought it about a year ago. It comes with 2 interchangable cabels, so I have one in my laptop bag and one plugged into my pc and just have to swap the mouse.

Keyboard: wanted a tkl keyboard for ergonomics and the cerry mx red switches with red backlight suits my colour scheme.

Headphones: I'm using these for about 2 years now and still love them. Amazing sound, sturdy build quality. I don't feel the need to replace these anytime soon. I made the 3dprinted headphone hanger myself using 3dsmax and a ultimaker 2 and you can download to print it for yourself it on things i verse http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1909479

3dmark firestrike score is on the last image.

Hope you enjoy! ;)

if you are in the us, the cryorig h7 with that fan would have looked sick.

I live in the Netherlands, unfortunatly a lot of hardware that is cheap in the US is expensive here. But a better cpu cooler would indeed be a nice upgrade for the future.

Things are expensive here in Canada too, and unfortunately Cryorig for some stupid reason doesn't sell anything here.

Hi I'm looking forward to upgrade my case to this case, and I have a question would you recommend static pressure fans for the intake, since the front kind off cover it so it pulls more are or airflow fans. Also while using static pressure for intake, should I use airflow for outtake for top and rear. Thanks. nice build by the way

the case itself comes with 2 phanteks staticpresure fans. so if you take your old fans out of your current case. i would suggest putting the phanteks sp fans in the front as intake, and the fractal design fans of your current build as a exhaust. Btw my parts stayed cool even with the stock confige of the phanteks fans,( 1 intake fan and 1 outtake fan ). But i did manage to achieve cooler temps all across with 3 intakes and a beter cpu cooler fan. Good luck! :)

Thanks for answering. This case look really nice, and I just wandering which fans should I use for it. I'll be looking forward during sales. Thanks again.

Are the green LEDs in the Amazon pictures can they be changed via switch of software or do you have to swap them out?

the colour can be changed via a button on the front pannel and you can choose 10 different colours. to match your needs

What's your temps (idle/load) with your i5 6600k overclocked with this cooler? I'm kinda worried this cooler won't be enough. Thanks in advance!

i've overclocked it to 4.5 ghz and my temps with a 100% cpu use over a period of 4 hours is 55 degrees Celsius ( using aida 64 stress test ) but i added that corsair fan with makes difference
