Description

I use this for gaming. I love every part of it. Took a while to make the monitor go at 120 hz but I figured it out. This is my first build. I'm 13 y/o and very fortunate to have a pc like this

Because of course you're 13 with a $5,000 rig.

Parents with a lotta money? Not really difficult to believe.

I'm just salty cause my rig cost as much as this kids graphics card.

Haha, fair. Was recently able to get a used strix 2080ti oc for $600. Paying retail for it would be out of the question.

Used or not, that's a steal. How'd you swing that?

Bought from a friend. Guess I got the friends and family discount :p

that's just the way it is sometimes, kind of sucks sometimes but as long as he knows what he has and doesn't take it for granted then I don't have a problem with it.

My question is how did his bank account drown at 13. What is the source of income? Otherwise it's the parent's bank account.

Ok lets be real one this is his friends rig or 2 this is his parents rig or 3 this pic is from google

To be clear, I saved up from many birthdays and saved up from various businesses I made. From making businesses ive allotted a pretty penny. Im not the type to blow all my money so it was easier to save up. I still have many funds for things like college left over. I also still continue to do the various things I do. Just wanted to clear that up. (I do have a bank account btw with td bank)

Well in that case congrats on finishing your build. It's a bit RGB heavy for my taste but to each his own. It's clean as hell though, and it looks like you managed your cables well.

Could just be super well off - he mentions it himself how he's fortunate to have this at 13. I guess I'm just not phased by it because I've been around a lot of well-off (read: stupidly rich) kids in high school and college.

oh graphics? cpu? link? would be curious. Gaming laptops are only good if they are over $700 which is bs. You can buy parts off of ebay, offerup, letgo, and sales to get a full setup for $500

No offence, but you really wasted alot of money on this. Im around the same age, but i would never spend this kind of money on this. I would go 2500 max... Just don't really understand why you didn't save up for later in your life.

Start a Roth IRA with 2.5k in it at 13... add to it for years. Profit

Unless you are running RTX and Ultra Settings on this if you game, or render videos(young YouTuber?), this is a total waste of money as the hardware wouldn't be used to it's full capacity in doing normal tasks, even some games at their max settings might not be able to benefit from all this power. Might as well get a Threadripper 3970x if you want to show off.

You clearly have a passion for building high end custom computers. My guess is you have a very bright future. You owe no explanation for the source of your funding. Good luck.

Very good job. I did the same thing at about that age. Didn't come from money, but spent lots and lots of money in the 90s. Worked for neighbors, mowed lawns, pulled weeds. I wanted consoles, I wanted a 486, I wanted games, so I did it. Now days, I built a i9 with a 2080 Super to "get me by" until I get all the parts and money saved for a Threadripper. I don't make a lot of money (drive a truck), but I know I can save and buy cool stuff. But before this summer I had a old Sony Vaio laptop from 2004 running Debian Linux because I was going through hard times. Made it through, have spending money again and sweet computers.

Dam, I gotta admit, this is the most aesthetically pleasing pic of a setup I've ever seen on the site.

The rgb, the super ultra wide with a retro wallpaper, the cityscape in the background, and clean peripherals positioned flawlessly without interruption. What really makes this scenic is the view you have with it, it's a metaphoric sight for the internet, so vast beyond thought. I have powerful build like your but a sight to compliment an already "safe space" away from reality takes surfing the net to a new level. Be proud...
