Description

So it all started with my HP Envy "Gaming" desktop. Where I was tired of low fps. So when I bought the R9 270x I thought oh AMD only goes with AMD (envy had AMD chip inside). When I got the gpu I also got the PSU. So after some years I switched from an HP Desktop to a macbook then I thought why did I get this 8 months later? So I sold it on craigslist for $100 Less than what I bought it for and built this beauty. The Red Beast.

I7-4790k

This chip is amazing. I play Arma 2 and 3, this thing just obliterates the game with amazing fps at high settings.

Motherboard

Looks sick, enough said.

16GB Ram

I don't edit video a lot but when I do it gets the job done. Also nice to have plenty of ram with Adobe Photo products.

850 EVO

Great SSD, nice performance.

2TB HDD

Stores a lot of videos, files and documents securely.

GPU

Hoping to trade this card out for a GTX 1070, if i'm not frugal.

Case

Oh this is a long story. So I started out with a Rosewill Stryker M, which was a piece of crap. So then I upgraded to a Phanteks Enthoo Pro M Acrylic Window. When I ordered the new case on amazon, the distributor said that they would cancel the order. So I ordered from newegg's ebay account for the same price. Then when I come home I see both the amazon package and the newegg package. Then I was scratching my head. Because I ordered the case from amazon and waited two weeks before they said anything.

Power supply

Time for an upgrade. Like ketchup and mustard on my hotdogs and burgers, not on my cables.

Monitor

Love the blue light feature in the dark, helps ease the eyes.

Keyboard & Mice

Great combo, third one. Best keyboard and mice for budget.

Operating System

Bought a key off ebay. Took a week to get a Windows 10 boot drive working. Felt like a caveman without a computer XD.

Thanks for looking Enjoy :)

P.S.

Expected to receive my replacement RGB lighting strip soon. Will post photos.

Was confused by the choice of CPU and GPU, but using an old GPU and waiting till the next generation of GPUs come out is smart. +1

Have you overclocked the 4790K over 4.4ghz? You are using the stock cooler and highly recommended you get an aftermarket cooler at least something like the 212 EVO.

I have that case as well. It really is a thing of beauty. I recommend using thermaltakes ring fans! It really makes the build pop. :) Check out Blue Ice 2.0 in my builds.

Awesome! I have the h115i and I've only gotten it to fit on the top rack, I tried the front too but not enough room. I'll have to rig something.

Good looking build. I have that same motherboard, I think it looks pretty "sick" too.

Pantheks cases are beautiful as well.

the 980ti should be plenty, it can handle gta5 at 4k on high settings, with a framerate of 100 fps, and you can get custom sleeved cables from cablemods website, enough nitpicking, great build, looks great for the base it is right now, hope to see more pics when the whole thing is finished +1

Ya but I don't do 4K gaming, at most I'll do 1440p gaming.

i mean it can handle the more you throw at it, and the new maxwell architecture can keep extremely cool even under load
