Description

I use this computer for daily use and gaming, I spend so much time researching on what parts to get and what would look nice just by looking at the computer case and window. In the end I am fully satisfied with the build running quite fast and smooth (60+ FPS) on all the games I play. Some prices isn't your normal price as some I got from eBay (bidding) or on sale on some website. I included everything I used for this build on the part list so you guys will have an idea how much everything costs. Also as for shipping - everything was free (I ordered on their eBay or Amazon page instead of their own website).

THE PART LIST REVIEWS IS AT THE BOTTOM

Overall I love this build, it is enough for me and everything I do on the computer. Please feel free to ask questions :)

Part Reviews

CPU

I read a lot about overclocking and I really wanted to try this out myself, so I decided that I will get this chip to experience overclocking since its cheap as well so if I break it somehow I'll just get myself another CPU, so there after all the stress, temperature and stability tests I found my stable overclock at 4.5ghz - 1.3V. I tried to push it further to 4.6ghz but I really didn't want to go over 1.3V for what I have read online.

CPU Cooler

I got this Corsair H60 very cheap from eBay - I just couldn't resist the offer, at 4.2ghz at maximum load, the temperature difference is about 20o C from the Intel stock fan. It also looks cool within the case.

Thermal Compound

As I wiped off the pre-applied thermal paste from the H60 accidentally - I did not hesitate and ordered this, according to my research this is one of the best to use!

Motherboard

I decided that I wanted to make my colour scheme for the computer red and black, my second choice was the H81-Gamer from ASUS but i thought this one looked the best and it is a Z97. I have read bad reviews about it and good, so in my mind its just luck to be honest if you get a good board or not - Also I try to avoid flashing the BIOS since almost everyones problems online is related to that - for now I do not need to update as I don't have any problems yet.

Memory

At this time I really wanted to get the red g skill ripjaws 8GB CL9 although it was out of stock at the time, so I just went with this one. Still happy with it as it suits the look pretty good too!

Storage

For the SSD I have just the OS installed on it, still have 90GB free from 128GB which is good, I use the 1TB WD to store everything else.

Video Card

I just love the reference card of nVidia, I would do anything to get my hands on them - luckily a shop had a sale from 180 I think to 150ish, so I just bought it straight away! I have no problems with it whatsoever - all games run 60+ FPS on ultra (my games that I play). I love the way the LED lights up.

Case

I wanted a case that has black and red (scheme) took a long time researching for a good case that will fit my other parts in, I am truly glad I found this one though, it is perfect for me not too big, not too small, massive window to show off the parts and EXCELLENT cable management!

Power Supply

600W is recommended for the GPU so I chose a corsair one since I'm most familiar with the brand, I have heard mixed reviews about them but I just went with it, no problems so far. It is also modular, very nice to keep things tidy.

Operating System

I'm familiar with 8.1, also I heard that there will be free upgrade to windows 10 if you have a legitimate version of windows.

Monitor

This one does the job perfectly, although it does not have speakers - its all good as I was given a 2.1 system by a friend and its really good.

Great build, I would really recommend getting an i5 4690k if you have extra money in the future. I'd bet it increases performance a good amount. Anyway, good build and the cable management looks great! +1

Lel great build.. Ian that have set my mind on this same case so sleek and nice. My favorite part is the cable management bar inside that hides the wires

robertlabrador94 submitter 1 Build 2 points 24 months ago
