Can anyone contact me I would love to get into something like this. Btw really like the concept just not a big fan of the color theme but that's just because of my setup plans

Your looking to get into custom watercooling?

Hey. Fantastic build! Congratulations!

I've got a Fractal Design Define R5 myself too and have been considering a custom liquid loop.

I figured the documentation on the product is inaccurate though.

It says it supports 360 mm radiator on the front, which is rather silly, as only 2 fans can go there...

Also, it states that for 140 mm wide radiators, the top is limited to use only 55 mm in total radiator + fan height. I measured in my PC, but I don't see anything being in the way. (Well, I've got DDR3, which is a bit lower than DDR4).

I wonder what radiators you used in your build. The front seems to be 280 mm, but I can't guess the top radiator.

Also, why did you chose a single loop over two separate loops (1 CPU, 1 GPU loop)?

dscustoms submitter 1 Build 2 points 2 months ago

The front mounted radiator is a 280mm radiator that's 45mm thick from alphacool which can be bought on modmymods.com. As for the top radiator, I'm using an alphacool 30mm slim radiator which is 240mm, but I will be switching it to a 360 rad for more cooling. The top can fit a 420 rad as long as its 30mm wide but I would go with a 360 for clearance reasons.I chose a single because I wanted the fluid to give the effect as lighting running through the system.

Thanks for the feedback. Appreciated.

Could you please let me know what would cause the clearance issue for you on the top with the 140 mm wide radiators (280, 420)? As mentioned, when I looked at my PC, I didn't see anything in the way, but since you have it actually build, you've got more experience in this matter. :)

dscustoms submitter 1 Build 2 points 2 months ago

A 280 should not have any clearance issues. But a 420 might block off the eps connector on the motherboard also might have a clearance issue with the back io so just take measurements before you get a 420. But I recommend a 360 and you won't have any issues.

Shakaron 4 Builds 1 point 2 months ago

Yeah, the IO cables... They are covered by the plate that allows mounting of the drive racks.

I'll definitely take your advice. Thanks. :)

dscustoms submitter 1 Build 1 point 2 months ago

No problem glad to be a help.

andrewkakrak 1 point 2 months ago

Why did you by rgb ram if you don't even use it?

andrewkakrak 1 point 2 months ago

And a RGB motherboard.

dscustoms submitter 1 Build 0 points 2 months ago

The photos were taken with the rgb off since the colors didn't reproduce well when taking the photos

andrewkakrak 1 point 2 months ago

Oh, I understand.

dscustoms submitter 1 Build 3 points 2 months ago

But I will be taking a few more photos in the dark with the rgb on since many people want to see it

starrman 1 point 2 months ago

Absolutely beautiful! Well done, More photos?

dscustoms submitter 1 Build 2 points 2 months ago

I will be uploading a few with the rgb on and background light off soon

BChew2 1 Build 1 point 2 months ago

+1 Nice build! Impeccable cable management...very well done!

customgtp 16 Builds 1 point 2 months ago

Normally I would say in my mind "here we go... Another feature because it has custom loop...."

But I truly like this one. Not sure if it's featured yet but congrats. It is a beautiful and creative build! +1

dscustoms submitter 1 Build 2 points 2 months ago

Thank you

customgtp 16 Builds 0 points 2 months ago

You're welcome Hey can you please put up some pics of the build lit up before the feature. Sounds like a couple of us would like to see it with the leds and all. Pretty sure the custom engraved shroud lights up as the ram and mobo

dscustoms submitter 1 Build 2 points 2 months ago

Yes I will be taking a few more photos with the rgb on in the dark

299 is broken, at least you get to use all 8 ram slots but for other features like some sli stuff and more you need the i9 for some reason. Personally would have gone TR4, and it's not much more to get the 8 core 16 thread CPU and less for the asus prime mobo

dscustoms submitter 1 Build 2 points 2 months ago

X299 has its perks and it's more optimized than tr4 and most of the tr4 motherboards are Eatx, and i preferred the look of the x299 deluxe. AS for the 980ti, i had it from my old pc and it was repurposed for this build.

surefir3 1 point 2 months ago

Oh ok, makes sense... good build regardless of the quirks of x299

+1

surefir3 0 points 2 months ago

1080ti vs 980ti?? Both in higher end of 600$ or lower 700$ so why did you get that??

Synchro 1 Build 1 point 2 months ago

I'd imagine he already had it on hand considering he didn't add a custom paid price (as it has no prices available for it)

surefir3 3 points 2 months ago

+1 billion this man knows what's going on!!!!

Synchro 1 Build 2 points 2 months ago

lol

surefir3 1 point 2 months ago

Ya, what I was really going at is the 980ti has held some value and could have been sold for a 1080 or maybe 1080ti

Synchro 1 Build 1 point 2 months ago

Ah, I see :)
