Description

This is my first build, but I really wanted a very nice looking PC that could perform well. I really tried to keep this PC in a budget while making it powerful enough for 1080p gaming, and making it look very professional and clean. I really tried to get everything to match white and black as best I could because I am really into very good looking PC's. Overall I had a very smooth first build experience. Nothing went wrong, and I feel that I succeeded with my goal of making it look very clean, professional, and powerful for 1080p gaming.

GTX 960- This card looks great, and performs very well for 1080p gaming. This card has really performed up to my expectations and is definitely powerful enough for what I am going to use it for.

FX-6300-Basically the budget powerhouse for CPU's. Great CPU

MSI 970A SLI Krait Edition- There are better options here, but I chose this Motherboard because it matched my build, and had all of the features that I was interested in.

Rosewill 550W- I got this power supply on sale for about $65. Gold Plus certified and fully modular, not much else to say.

NZXT S340- Great looking budget case. I LOVE the side panel window that shows off all of my beautiful hardware. This case is a very good looking case that has tons of features for those on a budget.

Phanteks CPU cooler- Quite, matches my build, looks great, and keeps my CPU running idle at 17 degrees, and about 35-40 degrees under load.

Your rear fan should be set to exhaust. You're creating negative pressure with that set up right now. Otherwise good build

_Sanic_ 2 Builds 1 point 37 months ago

Wait isn't it called positive air pressure if there are more fans blowing in than out ?

Shakaron 4 Builds 1 point 37 months ago

Yeah, it's a positive air pressure. The fans looked ok on picture #4. I'm not sure when Ruznikk flipped the exhaust fan.

Well, actually I guess he wanted more fresh air for the CPU cooler. Only problem is that it the CPU cooler takes air from the middle of the case and pushes air towards the exhaust fan, which pushes air towards the cooler so it ends up creating a turbulence and adversely effecting the cooling performance. Should flip either the CPU cooler or the exhaust fan, but they definitely shouldn't blow air towards each other...

mlach 4 Builds 1 point 37 months ago

You're probably right on that one. I'm just pointing out that his cooler and rear fan are working against each other.

Ruznikk submitter 1 Build 1 point 37 months ago

Thanks for pointing that out guys. I had to take the fan off to plug in the cpu power connector, and didn't realize I put it on backwards. I just fixed it.

It's always impressive to see what people can build for less that 1k.

Ropota 1 point 37 months ago

Nice build. +1

What lights are those? Nice build. I have the same gpu and Intel version of the mobo

Ruznikk submitter 1 Build 2 points 37 months ago

They are called Satechi Lights. They are RGB lights for PC's.

Hostility 1 Build 1 point 37 months ago

I love clean, good looking builds and for you to be able to do this on a budget makes it awesome! This takes a lot of skill and you sir, have made a really good PC for under $1K. Great job!

JuniorVid 1 Build 1 point 37 months ago

Looks really clean! nice build!

Rykill87 1 point 37 months ago

Could you tell me what kind of specs you get for gaming with this beauty?

Ruznikk submitter 1 Build 1 point 37 months ago

I don't have many games yet but I am running hitman absolution at 80-100fps maxed out. I know that is not much of a test but I will be getting fallout 4 Day one, and can let you know how it runs.

Nvvl 1 Build 1 point 37 months ago

Ruznikk submitter 1 Build 1 point 37 months ago

AMD-Daniel 1 point 37 months ago

Ruznikk submitter 1 Build 1 point 37 months ago

I got mine from Amazon for $30.

badgerbroc12 1 Build 1 point 37 months ago

Did you have any problems with the LED strips?

Ruznikk submitter 1 Build 1 point 37 months ago

No, they came with mounting tape already installed and they were really easy to install.

badgerbroc12 1 Build 1 point 37 months ago

Thanks

BlazeXER 1 point 37 months ago

Nice build man +1

Also, question. Getting that mobo and that cpu paired up will it require a BIOS update?

Cheers

Ruznikk submitter 1 Build 1 point 37 months ago

I did not have to update the BIOS.

BlazeXER 1 point 37 months ago

Alright thanks.

JoshPC12 1 Build 1 point 37 months ago

Where did you get those cable extensions?

Ruznikk submitter 1 Build 1 point 36 months ago

I got them on Newegg. They are Silverstone cable extensions

Purpleturkey97 1 point 37 months ago

could you run an amd fx 4350 on this?

Ruznikk submitter 1 Build 1 point 36 months ago

Yes, I believe it is an AM3+ socket as well

Pokealong1227 1 point 37 months ago

I have that motherboard with an 8350. Worst decision ever. Anybody looking to get an 8320 or higher, do not get the Krait Edition. The 4+1 power phase can't handle anymore than a 6300.

JaredPCGamer 1 Build 1 point 32 months ago

So I was searching through all the parts for my first computer and I realized "Oh wow, this guy has 75% of the same parts as I did and the same case with the same RGB lights as I did with the same Custom sleeved cable extensions that I do" and I was like "Ha! I have an evil twin" Epic build and I love how you stuck with the color scheme. Looks really modern. Keep It up!!!

SupaRoyal 1 point 26 months ago
