Description

My first build in 9 years, did not expect it to be as easy as it really was. The PSU turned out to be great, I would have been able to fit an even bigger graphicscard. Really happy with how the cooling of the CPU turned out, the whole case is really cool. At first I used the back as an intake but flipped the fan since the back was the only place I could use a an outtake.

Nice.

Well I know how hard it is to work inside that case, but I would at least try at some cable management. Especially in a case without tons of air movement! Nice build though I always love to see this case be used, hugely underrated.

overall, i'm impressed as you made some good choices on parts. i'm even more impressed by your thermal loads despite your nest of cables. was there no option for a modular power supply?

I used modular in mine but it's also potentially recommended to avoid modular when using a long graphics card (I used a little 6670) as it hinders access to the PSU-end modular connections. Certainly a tough one to predict when purchasing parts as every combination of GPU and PSU in this case is going to interact differently.

in this case, though, it doesn't seem like it would've been too much effort to use a modular power supply, though you're probably right.

Those cables tho

Not sure how well you can see it on my build but I stuck in the 2nd hard drive enclosure just so I could feed cables through it and house them inside. It helped a lot. Also it's hard to sense how much of this you could do but a lot of cables are passing diagonally through - seems you could run these down the side of the case if you shorten them with cable ties and then additionally attach them to the cable runner rails along the top.

For sure it is a tough case to manage non-modular cables though!

Hey, I'm looking at doing this same build but I was wondering if you think a 140mm water cooler will fit? I'm looking at the NZXT Kraken X40

The fan mounted in the back is 140mm, however I think you will be having problems with the radiator touching the graficsgard. Mine is 0.1 mm from touching it..
