  • I use this for gaming, browsing and light video editing.

  • i am not in the U.S so the prices are just like that. but maybe if i am there it would have been around 1200-1250 i think(all of my parts).

  • after i built it and played for a few hours, i realized(yea it just sink-ed in to me) that 16gb of ram is overkill for my gaming. i should've went for 2x4gb instead, i could have saved some money.

  • few days later i want some colored cables but my psu is not modular. it is still possible to mod the psu from experienced persons but you have to pay them extra to do that and it will void the warranty.

-so my lesson here is.... to hold my excitement next time and research slowly but surely. though i researched this 2 & 1/2 week

-other than that, it all looks great to me.

Other items (reviews)

Mouse & keyboard - i got the standard ones in a4tech i ran out of budget to buy good gaming keyboard and mouse, it has long life. perfect for a budget keyboard&mouse.

AVR - got a UPS which will save me from damaging my build.

Controller(gamepad) - of course ill go with this one. it's the cheapest and quite good unlike any other generic controllers

Part Reviews

i want the i5 6th gen which is perfect for overclocking. though i have not plan to oc "yet". in the long run i will

CPU Cooler

cryorig is not available in my country or at least its rare to see one, so i went with this corsair h60 keeping my cpu temp around 50-53 C when stressed at 100%, i didnt oc yet though

a z170 mobo that fully supports overclocking for my chosen cpu, i went for the msi z170 gaming pro board with rgb led lighting, with usb3.1 gen 2 for faster transferring of files, comes with a mouse master feature which means increased response time, connectivity and customization for your mouse.

any ram will do, but this will be perfect for my theme

for its long lasting quality, and all my friends use this, samsung 850 is better though but i got the 750, 120gb is enough for me, maybe ill just upgrade in the future. and also 750 is the cheaper version of samsung 850 evo IMO

Video Card

i want the asus strix 1060 which is a better one than this but sadly my budget wont be enough to cover the expense. anyway this is still fine.

Power Supply

what i have in mind is the seasonic m12ii(fully modular) but the store i went to said they are out of stock. i am also okay with this one since the Psu placement is shrouded in the tecware alpha

you see its a frame-less monitor in the physical aspect but when you turn it on it's not true at all lol. though it is still very good it is an IPS monitor after all

Very nice build! I believe you added the wrong motherboard to the part list as the pictures show an MSI Z170A Gaming Pro mobo and your list has an Asus model.

hmm the msi z170 gaming pro motherboard here does not have any price on it so i used asus z170 pro gaming as a proxy/substitute, they are close in terms of price. Thank you

Not bad for your first build, skipped a little bit on the photo taking process but thats somewhat to be expected, nerves and excitement and whatnot. +1

lino216 submitter 3 Builds 1 point 27 months ago

do you mean i have to include each part in the photos? thank you though

No but a build is a process, you went from a pile of parts to a finished computer. Its always good to show the work, explain your likes & dislikes, things you would keep and things you would possibly do differently etc etc. A picture says 1000 words and thats insanely true of a picture showing something being built.

probably should have gotten an air cpu cooler instead for that price.Nice build though

Question: Why did you go for the gtx 1060 instead of the rx 480? Not complaining or anything, just that I'm planning on buying one of these cards.

lino216 submitter 3 Builds 1 point 27 months ago

radeon consumes more electricity, and i always open my pc everyday for long period of times, it will save you cash in the long run. think of it this way, its more of a need than want. but in overall performance i think that the rx 480 is better but that doesn't mean that the gtx 1060 is far left behind. you can still play future games with the gtx1060 you know, all that matters is that you play your game with good enough quality or graphics right? and after saving up you can go for a far better gpu than these 2.

20 watts isn't that large. If you upgrade your card every three years and use your PC for say 8 hrs a day, the difference would be around 150 units only. Which, Imo doesn't make that much of a difference. Btw, The build looks good.

well, you are not wrong about that but its more like 12-18 hours a day and electricity bill at my place is expensive. though i made a mistake going for a corsair h60, h100i v.2 is a better cooler and has lighting too. i should have went also with a RED led ram higher than 2400mhz , 8gb in size. (16gb is overkill for me) i realized all this after a week that i bought the parts because i was planning to buy RGB FANS for aesthetics lol, my excitement got the better of me, it woudve looked more cooler if i went for the gaming x and not the oc edition. Did you buy a gpu already? i bet it is rx 480? or still haven't?
