Description

Thanks to all the people who liked my build and left positive comments !

A V2 is coming with custom made cables, fan controller and an ssd !

Part Reviews

CPU

Good cpu. Works great for gaming at 1080p.

CPU Cooler

I really wanted a top flow cpu cooler for the looks because almost all cpu cooler are wider than gpu and that looks bad, so i got this cooler that preforms great and looks even better !

Motherboard

Good motherboard, not to expensive. Only downside is the brown-ish color. The "Gigabyte system information viewer" to monitor and control fans doesn't work on my pc so i have to use the "smart fan settings" in the bios.

Memory

Love the looks, they work great and they low profile for maximum compability !

Storage

Not to slow for a hard drive but when my pc is at idle or even in light use the hard drive is the loudest thing in my pc.

Video Card

Good looking and is a great card for 1080p gaming. Only downside is that it is a loooong card so there is quit bit of sag.

Case

Bought this case a week before the tg version came out... It is still a great case with a excellent cablemanagement support and good airflow. Only downside is the window that can get schatrched really fast.

Power Supply

Does it job, not audible, not to expensive and black cables. Good.

Case Fan

Those are some sexy fans and they move a great amount of air but one you get over 40% speed they get audible and even bit to loud for me.

It’s all clean if you look at my build, but I could just tuck it a bit better in the back for the hdd cage.

Very cool build... my only nit pick is that I think sleeved cable extensions would make all the difference in such a clean build!

  • 2 points

First of all, Thanks ! And yeah i was thinking about the cablemod pro sleeving but it's like a 100 bucks.

  • 1 point

Extensions are only in the $35 range and they do great things! I have some black ones in my build and I intend to change to white ones for my build refresh. They are truly awesome!

  • 1 point

Good i'll give a try at those. I wanted to get the pro version because i read somewhere that the normal version were bad quality.

Hey, did you dual fan the Noctua heatsink? I see it doesn't come with that kind of support out of the box, if so, how easy was it to pull off?

  • 1 point

The nhl12s comes with 1 slim fan attached with 2 clips, i removed that fan and use the clips for the corsair fan. Really easy to pull of but i'm not sure if you can put two fans on it because of interference between the clips

That's it! I'm tearing apart my Thermaltake P3 and Define R5 builds, and redoing the cable management. I thought I did a good job, but this shows me that I certainly did not. Bravo man. I'm also a big fan of using Velcro over zip ties. +1 and congrats on the feature. Well deserved.

  • 1 point

HAHa i'm glad my pc made you re-do youre cablemanagment. And of course velcro are better than zip-ties !

You Sir, are a GOD of Cable Management. This has to be one of the cleanest builds I've seen. Thanks you for amazing me. +1

cable management skills I wish I had, lol... very cool build, just looking at buying the same board and an i3 7100 CPU used to redo my old PC, I already re-did it once... but with kids in the house, I had to put my old system back in service as I barely got use of my i5 8600k build... got a deal on a GTX980Ti so I had a spare 1060 6gb which was of course the only thing I had re-used from this old system, lol

What are your thoughts on that board??

  • 2 points

This build looks great! The cable management is amazing as well as the overall look of the case and your setup. I hadn't seen that approach to using the velcro straps in the define C before. By default they span over 2 horizontal loops but this looks so much cleaner.

Mate; that cable management, especially behind the motherboard, is amazing. Credit to you!

Super clean build, how is the air flow on that case? I love Fractal cases but they typically have closed front and it worries me that it chokes the system a bit. Especially with fans like those, I wouldn't expect that they would be need over 40% most of the time.

  • 1 point

Thanks for the support man ! The airflow is on point in this case !

  • 1 point

Define C is not the best in terms if airflow and temps on a gpu compared to meshed version. The front filter and panel are quite restrictive. If your bient temp is 20-22, it’ll be OK, but gpu can easily get to high 70s and low 80s if you’re in a warm climate. That’s what I personally don’t like about this otherwise great case to build in. Can be mitigated by gpu undervolting.

  • 1 point

I never had that problem, my strix 1060 never get above 60 degrees with à custom fan curve that is quit low i think

  • 1 point

There’re a lot of conditions, but it’s definitely not the coolest case when it comes to gpu temps.

  • 1 point

The moment I take the Define C panel and filter off - my gpu temps improve by 10 C. That’s too much to be ignored man. And I’m using mere downvolted 1080. Imagine it was a Ti with larger tdp.
