Description

We use the machine for lots of different Steam games and video editing in Adobe Premier. It starts up fast and runs great! The video render times are 3x-4x faster than my old 2009 iMac. I had trouble with the power supply it went bad the day I first turned it on. I upgraded it to a 600W by Inland that I got at MicroCenter. The AMD Athlon says: "Requires discrete GPU" on the outside of the box. It took me a couple of tries before I realized that the monitor would only work off the GPU connector. There is no GPU function in the processor so the monitor connectors on the motherboard would not work.

No GPU? This isn't a finished build. I'm not sure how you tested it then.

I don't want to come across as overly critical but you could have gotten much better performance while rendering by switching to the fx-6300 and a 212 evo instead of spending another $70 on your cpu cooler. Unless I suppose you bought it for a lot less and it just so happens to be listed at $70 on amazon only right now...

I really hope he didn't spend $70 on that. It has much worse performance than the 212 Evo.

for $600 you could of gotten a much better rig that would have gotten much more performance

I agree 100X.

Quite a bad performance/price in this build.

Ya, I was young and naive when I picked out the original parts. Now though that I've come to learn more about the different parts, what works better with what, I feel like it's just better to just start from scratch and get an entirely new build.

Part list shows a Gigabyte board but it's clearly an Asus board in the picture. And where's the video card on this build? This CPU has no integrated graphics.

I have he same CPU and I use a MSI r7 260x GPU which is a nice card for $130! I play bf4 on high settings at 720p just fine!!
