This is a build that works for me. I had a few of the components already: -Windows 7 home Premium -Video card -Seagate hard drive 3TB drive Now onto the other choices -CPU ( Intel Pentium G3258 3.2GHz ) i could get away with a few modes down from this one but for about or around $64. I could get a bench mark test of 4000, i think that 2788 is the lowest possible for plex box. -the motherboard (Gigabyte GA-H87N Mini ITX LGA1150) was a nice upgrade from the Asus H81I-PLUS Mini ITX LGA1150. - Got the Noctua NH-L9i 57.5 CFM, was on sale with free shipping - The elite 130 was a nice cheap case - The solid state drive was on sale as well 120GB fro the price of the 60GB was to goo to pass up. - I have some DDR3 ram laying around but i would like a faster speed - Power supply doesn't have to be any huge 350/400 but semi-Modular would be nice with cable management.
What most of the decisions that i made were not based only on money but also bargains. I could have cut cost on a few areas but in the end i went what made the most since to me. PS cable management will be awful till i get all the drives i want in this little thing.
Edit 1 - I got some free ddr3 1600 ram from a friend so im updating the parts list. I also decided that the CPU was a cheap option I did pay for what I got. Witch was not that much. I will be upgrading it to at lest a i5-4690k
Edit 2 - Finally got the I/O shield aaand its the wrong model. O well Board is discontented and will work just fine :)
Edit 3 - I've been running 10 tb if storage with this build and it's been rocking with no issues till last week. The power supply fan went out so I had replace it with a modular EVGA 450. Back in business.
