Description

This is a gaming pc that always has something holding it back. The first item was the GPU. Then it is the monitor. Once I got a 144 hz monitor, the GPU was be the bottleneck again. Besides something always bottle necking it, it runs every game at high settings no problem at the moment. CPU for everyday usage is set for 4.6 GHz @ 1.32V. The GPU is overclocked to 1100 MHz and can play any game without any errors.

Part Reviews

CPU

Amazingly fast cpu. Overclocked to 4.6 ghz at 1.30 volts. Stays cool as well. Never goes above 60 degrees.

CPU Cooler

Great cpu cooler for air cooling. Keeps a 6700k overclocked to 4.6 Ghz @ 1.30 Volts under 60 degrees all the time.

Motherboard

Nice motherboard. Friendly bios. RGB lighting keep things interesting. Layout makes it friendly for service.

Memory

Nice low profile ram. Fits under large cpu coolers with ease. Due to being 16 gigs, should not have to worry about running out of ram anytime soon.

Storage

Very fast SSD. Boots anything in seconds.

Video Card

Amazing graphics card for the money. Maxes out every game without breaking a sweat. It is the perfect card for 2k 60+ fps max settings gameplay.

Case

Very nice case to work in. There is a lot of room for any part of any size. The dual chambers also help keep cable management extra clean. With every fan slot in use, it keeps all of the components inside nice and cool to boot!

Power Supply

Very nice power supply. Powers everything perfectly and efficiently.

Wireless Network Adapter

Great wifi card. Picks up great reception and stays connected.

Case Fan

Great case fans. Fan controller helps with both rgb colors and fan speed. This helps set the right balance between noise and performance.

Keyboard

Great keyboard. Love the mechanical feel and the fast cherry switches.

Mouse

Highest DPI mouse without the cursed side buttons. lol

Headphones

Very nice head set for gaming. Very comfortable to wear for hours at a time. 7.1 works great when I am in game. The sound is perfect and crystal clear. There are no hisses or cracks in the sound at all. Highly recommend these head phones.

Not quite the one percent, but real close. Good on you. Might want to retake those first 3 pictures from further back, just had a hard time telling what was what.

OK. I am charging the camera right now, but will take some more later. I was just showing the open side of the corsair 540 and how everything looks inside.

Oh yeah, I meant to say that I appreciated getting to look inside. Favorite part of any build!

I believe hes referring to the white fans when most of the rest of the inside is red and black.

there is always a bottleneck somewhere

  • 1 point

ALWAYS. but thats part of the name of the game. How do you improve from what you have is always the question.

Yep bottlenecks are always existing. The only way to make something bottleneck free is if EVREY SINGLE COMPONENT AND GAME ENGINE IS RUNNING AT 100%, no more or no less. Something that is pretty much impossible.

Thats why you settle somewhere and upgrade when the price is right.

yeah a Fury will not be the bottleneck itll be balanced once you get a better monitor

Is the r9 fury still going strong??

It is running perfectly. I have it overclocked to 1100 Mhz. It never gets above 64 degrees Celsius. Frame rates are still great at 2k resolution. The newest game I have i forza horizon 3 and doom 2016. Doom at max settings always gets over 100 fps and forza on high settings gets around 90 fps.

It is a nice card. Only thing that you need to remember is you only have 4 gigs of v ram. high bandwidth memory allows you to play at higher resolutions easier because the memory can crank out the pixels much faster. that is why the fury always was doing better at the higher resolutions when it was bench-marked. I keep track of all of the information on MSI afterburner and use that to know how much v ram is being used. On older games like Assetto Corsa, the fury at max setting in a single race will get around 70-100 fps. The Vram usage is usually around 2-2.5 gigs. When you add 23 other racers to the race, that number will then drop down to 50-80 fps. The vram usage also is now around 4 gigs at that point. When I race, I turn down the setting a bit to stay above 100 fps. When I am practicing by my self, I will turn the settings up to max to enjoy the visuals of the game.

Oh thank you for the detailed reply. Now i am more certain i made right choice. This card is best bang for the buck in the market right now and i will be very happy with it. Have a good day!!

What fan controller do you use? I am getting the same fans, and wanted to know. Thanks! :)

I bought the 3 pack. each 3 pack came with one controller. it was nice because I only needed 2 fan headers on my motherboard to get all 6 going. I tried aiming for 2% higher fan speed for the intake fans so i maintain positive air pressure in the case.
