It's a blu-ray writer. I know people that would love these. Not sure if it's worth the price, personally. but To some it's worth.

It comes with software which you need to buy anyway, the version without software is around $60

A really nice build and you were able to score a $120 Blu-Ray unit for $80 is a nice get so am I to assume you watch a lot of movies? If not, then I think what others are thinking is that the $60-$65 you could have save here could have gotten you a 128GB SSD or spent more on the GPU and got a 270X, 280 or a GTX 660.

Having a non-modular PSU you did a really nice job keeping the cable out of the way.

With $285 of your $900 being peripherals and OS many would consider this a budget build..... But with quite nice performance.

Just recently built a pretty similar performance pc for a client. By that I mean, 260x and a 760k with the same psu and case. Not the point...I love the spec series cases from corsair. Especially that one. Personally, I would have skipped the blu-ray drive and gotten an ssd. Nice first build man. +1

Good build. Only thing I would've changed is your CPU. The FX-8350 has a 4.0GHz overclockable 8-core CPU, for only ~$40 more.

8350 is essentially an OC'd 8320. May or may not be worth the premium.

what are you using it for? if its for gaming, you could've gotten an fx6300 and a 760

Mainly for school and I wanted to try out pc gaming. I plan on getting a ssd and probably another hdd because I've got a lot of music and movies
