Hello everybody. :)
Parts rationale and build: http://imgur.com/a/G9qvZ
Reddit submission: http://www.reddit.com/r/buildapc/comments/1sms1a/build_complete_red_themed_gaming_and_workstation/
Ok this cool but ummm info plz?
what do you want to know ? :)
edit: i added info ;)
Very nice looking build!
That is one sweet free computer! Why all the High-end parts with no GPU? what do you use it for?
lol. I marked the parts as "purchased" as they were arriving in the mail. I was waiting for 780 Ti non-reference model; probably an EVGA with and ACX cooler. I'll be getting it for Christmas :)
I use it for gaming and as a workstation: virtual machines and 3D rendering.
No dude get an ASUS GTX 780 Ti to match your color theme. Really clean build, might be the cleanest on this site!
now you have my attention! lol. +1. sexy build.
You had my curiosity, now you have my attention.
About 2000 Euros.
Ok. Good color theming, but I see one picture, no prices, and no description. Hmmmmm...
This is my first time doing this.
I'm going to try to fix this, one sec.
edit: it is done :)
Awesome! Now I can upvote! I see in the other comments you are getting a 780 ti, so that answers my only other question.
It looks like you are pushing all the hot air from the radiator directly into the case. Wouldn't it be better to push it out of the case? Very nice build, I can't wait until it is finished.
I was going to do exactly that, then I came across a video of JJ from Asus explaining that he would rather have the radiator fans as intakes (even when on top) so that fresh air would flow through the rad rather than the already heated inside case air. The Corsair manual also suggests to do that, so I decided to go along.
I have been having great temps so far, and not much dust luckily.
Oh wow, I didn't think of that. I'll have to try that.
This build look even better when that 780ti comes in. Beautiful build +1
Nice. I'm using that same RAM in the build I just finished. It looks BOSS... and is a quality product with lifetime warrantee.
Really well done. Enjoyed reading through the build log and your pictures were very nice. Liked the cat touch at the end there too ;)
Awesome job! Clean and a great color scheme I wonder why I love it so much?! haha check out my build here : http://pcpartpicker.com/b/G6X
Can I ask why you went with the Formula over the Hero?
Awesome job my friend, welcome to the Air 540 club! +1 and more if I could
I'm not gonna lie. Two words: thermal armor.
I just love them. So even it was overkill...
ps: At first, before the whole "red" idea, I was going with a sabertooth :)
Haha No problem I completely understand
Enjoy your build!
Why didn't I bother with my colour scheme? :( Still Christmas is coming and you've got my +1
Do you like the band 'RED' or is it just a coincidence? Nice build anyway! :D Great set-up
Sorry, i don't know them. Red is for the predominant color of the build.
Fair enough, just a guess :)
Alchemy Mixed cable (Red/Black) is going to look so amazing in this build.
Yes sir. And some Alchemy LEDs too :)
Cleanest build ever QQ
Nice build, me like the bonus cat ;) , congrats!
That looks expensive. Very sexy tho.
prices would be great.
Sorry, it defaulted them to zero when I marked the parts as purchased.
The whole thing cost about 2500 dollars.
Great build, anyways. Love the color scheme, great cable management! +1
About 2500 for the whole thing. :)
Looks great but it feels empty to me. Where's the GPU?
I'm buying it for Christmas :)
EVGA SC 780 Ti
No no no Asus or MSI to match the color scheme.
the pictures I saw of the MSI and Asus one on newegg all look the same. Silver. Normally, I'd say Asus or MSI but with the 700 series EVGA really has made an amazing all around GPU.
EDIT. Spoke too soon. Did a google search and sure enough...red and black MSI and Asus models. derrrp.
You will only ever see the sides of the cards so who cares? :D Sweet build, bro/sis
EVERYTHING is so clean, including your desk.
+1 for leg on imgur
I may have cleaned it a little for the pic, but don't tell anyone :P
Haha, well it looks great!
Your build looks fantastic. You rocked that case with those fans and color choices.
A thought, not sure if it's possible, but since you have a black and red themed build, would you be able to buy some red stage light gel sheets and place a cutout over the blue LED power on the front of the case?
Oh and I think you build is 99.9% perfect the way it is, extra LED lighting would detract from the well-executed theme.
But that's just my opinion (and I don't use the case day-in day-out :) )
That is a great idea. I'll make sure to check if I can mod the leds from inside the case. Thanks ;)
Wow this looks amazing! Beautiful job!
Those corsair fans look amazing i have to buy them now!!
What desk is that? I like it. All of this is good. :)
Ikea Galant ;)
Similar. It's this one.
Take off $160 and I can have this ;) I just want something that can keep two (maybe 3) monitors and my PC off of the floor. I hate having my PC on the ground...
How did you mount the rear af140? mine will not fit because of the rubber corners
Forcing it a little it ended up fitting.
i tried that but i just switched to a 120 in the end
Nice build. I almost have the exact same build. For a GPU i'd go with an ASUS GTX780-DC2OC-3GD5 GeForce for aesthetics and performance. A Titan will be good but it will be wayy over kill. Add some Corsair custom sleeved cable to this beast and youre cooking with gas!!
hey man love the build but i was just wondering why no front and just bare fans? Or is it me? apart from that, sweet build! +1 :)
Oh no, that was just so you guys could see the fans better.
My grids and side panel are on usually. ;)
oh, okay thanks :)
How loud is it with all those high performance SP 120's?
Very loud. I suggest using a fan controller or corsair link kit, which is what I'm going to go with in the future.
Beautiful set up and rig. Question regarding that mobile and case. We're you able to mount the mobo in the case with that mobo backplate being attached?
Yep, the MoBo fit right in out of the box. That is with the thermal armor on. No-brainer.
The push-pull top rad barely fits with this particular MoBo though. It was a close call. I got lucky there.
Hey. How do you like your monitor? I am looking to buy it, and just wanted your thoughts on it.
I love it. I've bought a second one since. Great value for the price.
Can you send me a link to that desk and chair i love the look of them
Table: IKEA Galant: http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/S99807372/
Chair: IKEA Klappe. Not sure if they make it anymore. Couldn't find it...
How do you like that keyboard and the mouse? I have the mouse but I'm stuck with a crappy Belkin keyboard until my new build this summer. I'm thinking about getting that keyboard, how do you like it?
I very much like them, it feels great. Relatively cheap compared to other mechanical keyboards and I believe there is a backlight version also available now, if that's your thing.
Hey nice build. Question though. I notice you have your rear SP120 blowing as an intake, while your 3 front fans are exhaust? If I'm seeing that correctly, very interesting cause I've never seen it done that way before. Usually the front fans are intake and then exhaust fans out the back.
Also, and your h100i fans are in push-pull config right? Fans on bottom are blowing toward rad, while the fans above it are blowing out of the case.
Correct? :) (just trying to learn)
No problem man, but it's the opposite actually. The front fans are set as intakes, the rear fan is a exhaust. Pretty standard really, as you said it.
The push-pull fans are all intakes (that is bottom fans blowing down and top fan blowing toward rad), as suggested by Corsair's notice and JJ from Asus on YouTube.
How loud it it
nice build btw very smexxy
Very loud. I used 3 pin fans so I can't regulate the speed. I would suggest going with 4 pin fans and a fan controller.
That monitor for that system..
