Hello PCPartUsers! Nothing much to say here. I was approached by a prospective client looking to do a budget upgrade for their old Pentium Duo system originating from back in '09. She was looking for something with modern speed for browsing, watching videos and doing light office work, and affordable enough as to not break the bank. The case has sentimental value to her. It also helped reduce her overall cost.

On my end, I was able to reuse an older AM2 bracket cooler from a prior teardown as AM# brackets are backwards and forwards compatible between CPU generations. I disassembled the fan and heat sink and refurbished them. I also added the rear exhaust as to improve airflow through the windpipe on the side of the case. This reduced temps by an additional 6C under load and 2C at idle.

Overall, I am happy with the results as temps stay well within safe margins and noise is barely audible. My overhead was reasonable and the cost was supper affordable for the client. On a side note, nothing is overclocked except for the RAM which happily booted to its' rated XMP settings without any tinkering.

Cya next time.

Ryzen 2000 ready and my C15 2400MHz HyperX Fury booted to its' rated speed without any tinkering in the bios.

Affordable low capacity M.2 SSD drive. Boot times are very quick.

That must be the best photo of a RAM kit that has ever been taken! Nice build too :-)

What about the stock cooler included with the Ryzen 3 2200G?

And what are the photos of the Intel build for?

Otherwise, great build! I used it as inspiration for a similar one that I created.
