Description

This is my first build ever. How did I do with everything? Is there anything i can improve on? I do plan on upgrading to a samsung 840 ssd with either windows 7 or 8 (still haven't decided) next week. Thanks! Sorry for the quality of the pics.

I just finished a build with the same mobo and same CPU, what made you choose the 7950 over a GTX 760? ($10 difference)

  1. People said amd cpus go better with amd gpus.
  2. Amd bundle
  3. Gtx 760 is just a 660ti rebranded, at least thats what i heard.
  4. A radeon 7950 is very overclockable even if the one i have is voltage locked.
  5. Ps4 and xbox one have amd apus. Meaning developers will develop games that work better on amd architectures.
  6. The radeon 7950 ptp was outstanding so yeah lol. Those are the reasons for my decisions. I did very intensive research so I'm very happy with my choice.

http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/2013/07/04/msi-geforce-gtx-760-twin-frozr-oc-2gb-revie/3 sorry mate the gtx 760 outperforms almost the 7950 in all the games. i wanted to get a 7950 to but the gtx 760 came out an i got it and im super happy with it. the amd bundle is over in many places and you get tom clany splinter cell for free with the gtx 760. no hate on amd

yea i love the hd 7950 its a beast if you overclock it you can get the same performance as the hd 7970 thats insane!!

That cards "outperforming" wouldn't even be noticed in game so...

Not even taken into account with 3gb and 50% higher Bus Width, better OCing capabilities. You can still find the Never Settle bundle.

For $10-15 more there is certainly a persuasive argument to be made of the 7950 over the 760. I will agree that as of right now the 760 is in general (though I just picked up a 7950 for $230 CAD with never settle+ so price/performance war is still on) the best performance card for value at this tier of gaming.

Looks like your GPU is sagging a bit. A little hard to tell from the picture. If it is, you should prop up that end to reduce the stress on the board. Overall, nice job.

First i would turn the EVO vertically not horizontally. You are covering 2 of your ram slots. This also helps air flow coming from the front of the case to the back.

Yeah totally pick up a ssd around 120gb-250gb.

For os, just get the cheaper one.

Other then that nice work!!!

One question. Why didn't you take the plastic off the front?

It's not 100% finished yet. Its like a mini commitment. When it is 99% finished i'll peel it off so it's 100% lol. Sorry i guess i'm a little weird.

I don't have the kind of patience. When I see plastic on something I HAVE to rip it off. :)

If you're getting an ssd either get the samsung 840 pro or wait for the samsung 840 evo.
