Description

Just built this PC to be our HTPC, while also replacing my 5 year old laptop for light gaming and replacing my wife's laptop for graphic design. I am used to playing WoW on the lowest settings at 15 fps, so if I can get 40 fps on medium, I'll be ecstatic.

I got really lucky because I was able to use the Newegg Masterpass deal (from r/buildapcsales) before it closed to save a lot of money. I also found a open box deal on a 23" IPS monitor at Best Buy. I had purchased a different PSU, but the order got screwed up and instead of waiting, I just went to Best Buy and grabbed this one, it'll do for now.

I feel like I did a decent job at cable management for my first build. The Zalman was a PIA to install. The case is great with the 3 fans. I haven't really put it to the test yet tho to check out performance.

This is a very nice build. Clean cable management as well.

I got really lucky because the NewEgg masterpass $20 off $50 deal happened right as I was about to start ordering things. I used the deal a total of 8 times (different email accounts) to get ridiculous prices, I think I saved over $150 total.

>Blinks< newegg allows this? Different email accounts from the same person, to get lower prices?

It wasn't different newegg accounts, they were masterpass accounts. And I didn't see anything saying it wasn't allowed. I found the deal on r/buildapcsales.

Indeed. I'm sure Newegg could find some way to complain about this and I am sure they are probably looking into fixing this loophole as we speak...

Well, it wasn't a Newegg deal, it was a masterpass deal that they did through newegg for promotion and it lasted less than 24 hours because, since everyone was doing what I did, they hit the max number of 7500 deals. So, its over and done and those of us that were able to use it, got very lucky :)

I'm not saying that you WILL get into trouble, I am just saying that you basically manipulated a promotion, and that in itself can quite literally have consequences. Of course we're all hoping that doesn't happen, and in all reasonable sense it probably won't. There's always a possibility though.

Big Brother can watch me all the want. The only thing they could get me on is speeding. ;)

Thanks! I would have liked to route the CPU power around back if it was 2 inches longer :)

Ah, I didn't think of that, maybe I'll give it a shot.

Thanks. Yea, I would've liked to get that power cable on the backside, but it wasn't long enough. Someone else mentioned running it between the motherboard and case tray if the standoffs are long enough. I might give that a try.
