Description

I set out to create my dream build and this is the result; A classy, minimalist, super-powerful SFF PC with no compromises. After Bitfenix released the Portal case I finally had my base; a non-boxy SFF mini itx case with everything you need, and nothing you don't. From there it was simply a matter of fitting the best possible parts into this unique case. Paired with an Asus PG279Q monitor this PC crushes 1440p 144hz which was the target.

+1 For the cleanest and most unique looking case currently on the market. Holy crap, I need to get one for myself!

Seriously, how did I not hear about this case before now?

Because its BitFenix and poorly made. I like the case, but if you don't see people use something a lot, it's probably for a reason. +1 regardless

This is similar to my Portal dream build. Simple, powerful, clean; all you can ask for. +1

Whoa...this is incredibly unique. Literally the perfect positioning and choice of GPU. Interesting placement of the "front" USB slots. And just...how the back slides out. It must be so satisfying to click it back in.

Does the light inside really shine through in the dark? Would love to see how it looks at night.

Just added some night photos, check the last few :)

Nice, nice. Doesn't show too much through the side vents...thought it would show a little more, but I suppose that's more due to the fact that there's not much RGB lighting inside.

I guess you get the colors in the room without the lights being in your face.

Yeah I actually wasn't going for an rgb look, it just so happened that half my parts had rgb lighting. However now you mention it some rgb fans and a strip might be on the cards!

This is the most beautiful build I have gazed my eyes upon. I literally remade my whole list for my new build I'm (very)slowly working, just because of this case alone. How are temps with that 7700k and the case being so compact? Is the the single fan AIO enough to keep it cool?

This case is perfect in just about every way but the airflow isn't fantastic, at least concerning the CPU. During lengthy heavy gaming sessions my CPU would creep into the 80s. My solution is to slide the case open a little bit while gaming (you can do this while the pc is on) and my temps drop to 60-70c. This may not be the perfect or only solution but it works for me.

That's perfect enough solution to get the case in my eyes still, haha. I'm rather new to PC building though, so I guess my last question would be is it possible to make a basic streaming PC with mini ITX? I really really do want to make my build around this case, but I have a friend is helping me buy parts only so that I can do some lite streaming with him.

You can absolutely build a mini-itx streaming pc, even with lower specs than mine!

Try to remove that antenna from your exhaust grill and install cooler instead

Wow, I love it.

Kinda reminds me of the turrets from Portal.

Well done!

A TechSource inspired build? Damn that looks nice.

I bought and received the parts long before either techsource or pcpartpicker did their portal builds. Unfortunately by the time I posted this it appears I've copied them. When I saw techsource create a similar build to the one I'd had finished for days I was a little disappointed I didn't post mine earlier.

Oh nice! So a joey660 inspired build by TechSource I guess! But still a very solid build.

Awesome build! I love this case, do you need to have a specific smaller power supply to fit it into this case. I want to get something similar (mini ITX) but want to use my current Corsair HXi 750w, something tells me it wouldn't fit in a case like this.

  • 2 points

Thanks man! The case only supports SFX Power supplies so you'd have to get one of those from corsair or silverstone etc. You simply couldn't fit a full size psu in this case realistically..

What model of case by Corsair is that on Photo #30 and did you custom paint it yellow like that because it looks really cool?

It's my old build and actually a Bitfenix case; came in yellow :) https://pcpartpicker.com/b/kskdnQ

Hi. I built a PC very similar to this one, albeit with a few different parts. Is it ok if I post that? I will give credit to you.

Just got the case last night and rebuilt my computer, but the only cable management issue I had were the USB, power button, and audio lines from the case. In the pictures your cables looked like they out of the way. Any recommendations?
