Description

I decided after years of macs to switch over to a pc. I think the last pc I used at work had windows 95. The Mac was great for photo, video and music but not so much games. The one in the photo was from 2007 through yesterday and was struggling to keep up for a long time.

I looked at a lot of pictures on this site and read a lot of comments. I am happy with what I made. I am pleased it turned on and worked the first time. I had never built a computer before, but there are a million + youtube videos to learn how.

I plan on playing more games on this. I had been a long time mmo player (worked on mac) but I will look at more games and not use the consoles. Its going to take me a while to get used to windows again.

I may not have paid the best prices but it was cheaper than if I went to best buy and bought it. everything was ordered online through newegg and amazon mostly. I needed some fan extensions which I bought local.

The wiring wasn't too bad I learned maybe not to deal with the mess on the side after everything is hooked up. Could use a little more room on that right side case makers.

I 'm not sure what the newer monitors look like compared to the 30" and 23" cinema displays I am currently using.

as far as temperatures, I am reading off the asus monitor and probably haven't put it under a lot of load to get it to go up high.

ya, I had bought the 120 thinking it was good size. it's filling up fast 34g left. so I got a 256 to add and possibly re make as c/ drive. I didn't think stuff took so much room. I need to decide better what goes on them and what goes on the hdd.

no, that would be awesome. I was just moving life from one to the other. now the mac is detached and lonely.

yes it does. the mac was impressive for it's day 2xquad core 3.2 xenons, 4 gig ddr2 800fsb ram. NVidia gtx 8800 gpu, 2x-320 gig 10,000rpm sas drives. anyway it's sitting off to the side until I can get everything transferred. It may make a good boat anchor with all that metal...

Super nice clean build! Nice to see a fellow Mac guy going to the PC world. Makes my decision to Windows a bit more confident.

I thought the ram was supposed to go into the red slot. Might want to check your motherboard manual for that. Or is it because your cpu cooler is in the way? Anyways nice build !
