First build since 2008! Been out of the PC gaming scene for a long time, been on my Xbox X. Decided recently that I fancied getting back into it, spent hours/days on here looking at builds and watched loads or reviews on YouTube. What an amazing website this is, so well thought out and just love the ability to select components and search other people’s builds, brilliant!
Finally decided on this build, very expensive outlay starting with nothing, not even a desk! But very happy with the outcome, PC looks great and runs amazing. Tried to build a solid system that I could upgrade the Graphics card, expand storage and increase RAM at some point.
Went a bit crazy on RGB, but the builds I have seen on here, I thought looked great and wanted some of it!
Decided on the Corsair 465X due to the 3 included LL120 fans and the new RGB controller, saved a few quid. The case looks great in person, not sold on the X’s on the front but for the price it’s a great case, with included fans the case isn’t far off free!
Initially had a Ryzen 3600x processor but just couldn’t resist the few extra cores with the 3700x. Asus TUF GAMING X570-PLUS (WI-FI) Motherboard appeared to be the best one for the money and very happy with it so far.
Trident Z Neo DDR4-3600MHz appeared to me to be the best I could get for the money, am sure someone will disagree, but this was all new to me, and very confusing at times. For the price I think it’s a good deal.
Sapphire Radeon RX 5700 XT 8 GB NITRO+ Graphics card has impressed me so far, just didn’t want to spend more for very little gains for the money. Also looks great in the case. Got it at a very good price to.
Corsair MP600 didn’t really want to buy the 1TB Gen 4 NVMe M.2, but the 500GB one £140 so made sense to spend an extra few quid for the 1TB, once price drops, I will look to get a smaller gen 4 for the system drive.
Decided on the SteelSeries Keyboard, Mouse and Mat, the Apex 7 really caught my eye. Great keyboard and looks stunning. Initially was looking at Corsair ones, but I have a lot of that brand already in the build!
Samsung LC34J791WTUXEN for £500 I couldn’t see any better, not a massive fan of the styling, but really like the curve. Recently bought the girlfriend a 34” Ultrawide flat and the curve really adds to the experience for me. 100Hz, but really needed to spend a good bit more to get anything higher, just didn’t think it was worth it.
Noblechairs - Epic Mercedes am a massive F1 fan, the chair really looks great and very comfortable so far, 30 days to return if am not happy with it as well.
The build was really easy to do, things have moved on a lot since I did my last build. Everything just worked, was a little apprehensive going for the power switch the first time haha, but all good!
