Description

What do you use the machine for?

Everything.

What worked well?

Everything. I'm particularly happy with the peripherals.

Any problems?

Performance is fine, but I should have spent the extra dollars for a 390 and a 4790k.

How do you like the SHP9500s? I hear that they're like the underdog of headphones. How does it drive without an amp?

He has a 2 TB hard drive to access all his por...table files. ;)

The wallpaper switches fairly often. A lot of Portal/Aperture wallpapers though. These two are probably my favorites: http://imgur.com/a/imG2u

At this point I'm just going to wait for Vive gen 2 before I do any more major upgrades. I may do a complete overhaul and go Skylake and if not I'll just throw in a 10X0 or a 4X0 after checking out the price to performance ratios at that time.

you can always throw in an i7 or Xeon with hyperthreading

That's another good option. I really should try to get a little more use out of this mobo before changing everything out.

upgrade to a 480 or 1070

Yeah I'll certainly upgrade to either a Pascal or Polaris before buying a Vive since those architectures are much more optimized for VR than the prior generation of GPUs.
