Description

My previous computer was a Dell Inspirion with an Nvidia 550ti in it. After grinding my teeth through hours of 10-12 FPS gaming I decided to bite the bullet and do the upgrade. I slowly pieced this one together over the last 6-8 months. Finding deals as I could and asking questions on the things I didn't know. Luckily I turned out with something pretty wicked that should last me for a while.

Without the controllers and stuff you don't really need it only came out to around 1100. Not too bad for what it is.

Any issues with the processor running at 4.2? I have a similar build I put together with a closed loop liquid cooler on the processor with really low temps right now.

I dont know about him but I have a 4690k and 4,2 gigahertz should be a breeze. I am running mine at 4,4 ghz at 1,24v but could run it at 1,23v

Umm not too much, it stays stable for me. I started getting some noise feedback through my speakers after I installed the 970 and overclocked it. It rests against the cpu cooler just barely so I'm guessing that's where my issue is. But other than that works great!

Damn, where did you get the 4690k for 200

Microcenter, I'm guessing.

Really nice build. I would suggest you to take off one of the thermaltake fans and let the aerocool one do the job wihtout moving the aerocool though. It would reduce the noise level of your pc. Normally, I dont really like the black and red builds, but this one is pretty

I'll give that a shot when I get off work. Thanks for the input.

It's called the Nautilus and you didn't put it under water?

Not for first build, haha. I've got some more clever names if I do go into the deep.

hah, sure thing; was just giving you a hard time. are you referring to the animal or the nuclear submarine?

Definitely the Submarine. 20,000 leagues is one of my favorite reads.

Jules Verne FTW

Though actually I was referring to the real life Nautilus, the first nuclear submarine and the first vessel to successfully transit the north pole's ice field.

It's saying it has been removed. Is there another link?

Silverstone has really been on time with their cases. If I saw this one before my build I'd probably have a whole different machine right now.

may i ask why did you choose this cpu cooler except for its color?

  • 1 point

Well at first I was gonna get an Corsair H80I but I was informed that an air cooled system would have better affect. I did mainly choose this one for the aesthetics though. + I haven't seen too many of these on here. would you have chosen something different?

No sorry, i just try to learn too :)

actually i bought for my build an noctua nh-d15 but didnt open it yet as i noticed its ugly and very high end.

now i consider what to do - stay with it, or sell it and get a cheaper model like 212 evo to save money, or switch to liquid cooler for asthetics.

Nice firestrike score. I have almost the same specs as you...but only got up to 9600 with a cpu oc'd to 4.5 and my gpu oc'd as well. I wonder how it changes when parts are similar
