Description

This one's my first build. It's starting to get old and I want to replace it. Each price tag needs to be replaced in 2012 context. Each price tag finishing with .00 is an approximation of what I remember I paid it because I couldn't find the exact price no more.

I'm using this PC for video editing, SFX with Premiere and After Effects, sometimes Resolve. Also I started using it for music production. I briefly upgraded for a RX480 and then a 580 last year (you know why) but I sold it a few months later, returning to my good old 7850 (yes I know, kind of disproportionned but I was young)

It served me well but it needs to go (if I can still sell it). I made this page just to post it in the forum so you guys could help me finding what it's worth.

The first photos is what it's like today, and the others (with the lights) are older : I had a fan controller (NZXT Sentry 2), a LED kit (NZXT Hue), and I had suspended two more fans in the bottom. But I removed/sold all this.

This is the new build that replaced the old chap: https://pcpartpicker.com/b/BLHhP6

That kind of computer should sell easily, at the right price point.

... which is, according to you ? I've posted here that I think it's worth 685€ (795$) https://pcpartpicker.com/forums/topic/282796-saying-goodbye-to-my-old-chap-what-does-it-worth

Let me know if you think this estimation is good or too much, thanks :)

Veeeeery hard to tell. You need to consider: if I would be buying new, what would I get with the exact same money spent on that used rig? So if you sell something at 500$ what can I get new for the same price?? If I can get same performance or better, I will buy new. And then you also need to consider what else you could find on the used market for 500$. Can I get more from another seller at the same price?

Of course that's me and somebody else could see the ad and say hey that's a fair price and I don't need more than this. And most buyers want to make you go down a bit more, always. Myself I always offer no more than 80% of the price asked and start from there. Unless it clearly is a real deal that will last only 2 hours!!! Sometimes you have to be quick and pay the price asked.

All of what I said applies to my area and may or may not be true for where you live.

Well thank you for taking the time to support your argument. I'll try to look for similar rigs for sale and adjust accordingly.
