Description

This build has gone through a few transitions from SLI 970's to a place holder 770 (Now in my Media PC) till finally the 1070 that I want to eventually SLI as well, I mainly just game on this one as I have my other PC for the use of other stuff but yeah I mean that's basically it.

Part Reviews

CPU

Handles everything perfectly and honestly can't think of a single con about it.

CPU Cooler

Great cooler for the price and does exactly what it's supposed to with no loud pump noise or issues what so ever.

Motherboard

I LOVE this board, it has all the connectors you need and it has a gorgeous layout with a well structured solid feel, and the I/O shield

Memory

I mean its not the best of the DDR4 ram, but i can't knock a star because it is exactly what its described at.

Storage

Makes boot up so quick and is just a great little drive for the other luxury programs you want to store on it.

Storage

I'll probably upgrade this down the road it kind of throws the build off because its loud and honestly under load you can hear it over everything

Video Card

Honestly not to much to say it's a great card that hasnt had any flaws I can at least go on about.

Case

Great case just wish it had more cable management. Otherwise airflow and the option for a Liquid Cooler is great.

Power Supply

Only knocking a star off because the cables are ugly, and i might need to buy some extensions down the road, only worried about the lack of cable room i have left so I'll have to see if it would even fit, otherwise it does exactly as it should.

Monitor

For the price and IPS 4ms 1440p monitor with no bleed or dead pixels? its a steal IMO, also overclocked to 85hz no problem

Keyboard

Only knocking a star for the typing, otherwise it's a 5 star for gaming, I love the keyboard and I love Logitech so it's a win win.

Mouse

Got this mouse from work when it was on sale and don't regret it at all

Headphones

Went from the G35 wired version to this one after the hinge cracked because i dropped it and i love the wireless option of the headset, dont think ill ever be going back to a wired headset to be honest.

Nice build. I would've gotten the Zotac Extreme Amp! edition though.

eh only reason I didn't is because its a three slot card and I want to eventually SLI and couldn't fit two of those in this case, but thanks :D

"Striped Gold"?

I think Akaska has yellow fans if you ever change the fans. A-Data also has yellow RAM, I think.

I cant remember if my memory is tricking me but isnt there a company selling RGB capable RAM Modules? Because for the people who just wet themselves with LED & lighting effects that would be pretty intense and an item that sells pretty well just for the customization aspect.

You want a cool name? Okay, how about... The Candyman! Why? Dunna'.

Nice build, though. Like how all the peripheals are Logitech as well.

It should be named "TackyLeprdCor" tacky for zotac, leprd for LEPA cooler, and cor for corsair.

Can you give any input on gtx 970 SLI vs single 1070 performance? I have a single 970 right now it isn't cutting it on my 1080p 144hz monitor. I know everyone says to upgrade to the best single GPU, but I'd like to know how the performance difference between me getting a second 970 or buying a 1070 from someone who has actually had both setups.

Trust me the 970 in SLI for the games i ran was way nicer than a single 1070 in FPS means at least i was running the witcher 3 at like 130+ fps but longevity wise its better to sell the 970 get a 1070 so then while the 970 is still worth a bit more you can get a better value for it to eventually SLI the 1070, either way whatever you choose itll be amazing performance, do what makes you happy and is in the best convenience for youself is whatd id say
