Description

A friend that I work with, bought his son a game for his PC. The problem is, the PC that he had was a crappy prebuilt Dell PC from BestBuy. When his son tried to play his game, the PC just flat out was not capable of playing any games other than solitaire. I told him that I could build him one for under 300 bucks. He agreed and I began shopping around. I already had the R7 370, I got it for free in exchange for helping out a friend who owns a small PC store in Phoenix. I also had a spare 8GB stick of ram lying around, so there was another part that I did have to buy. I got a good price on the AMD FX-6300, I know it is not exactly a powerhouse CPU, but in my experiance I have used this CPU on a lot of builds and it does its job fine. I got a good deal on the MOBO, it does not have USB 3.0, but it is still a good MOBO with a really easy to use BIOS. I went with the super quiet EVGA 80+ 430 watt PSU. I got a good deal on Ebay for a 1TB Western Digital HDD. There were some that were cheaper, but they were from brands that I had never heard of or from brands that I knew were unreliable. From personal experiance, I have always been able to rely on WD drives. The one thing that was dissapointing was the DIYPC case. It was very frustrating to build inside of this case. Very little room to work with and not much in the way of cable management. But, for a sub 25 dollar case, what can I expect. All in all, it was still a fun build and my friend's son is very satisfied with new PC.

That kid is lucky to have had your expertise. I also am the resident PC builder of my family and friend circles. Ironically, I built an FX 6300 rig for my nephew with a GTX 1050ti about six months ago. He is in heaven. Heavy is the head who builds the rigs.

I wish I had done more research on this case before I bought it.. The hard drive mount is hideous...
