Description

Hey this is the first gaming PC I've ever built, I started out with a HP H8 that a bought from future shop about 2 years ago, it was the best PC they had at the time. This was before I ever considered building my own PC and I did all my gaming on a console. I bought it to get into PC gaming and I must say my PS3 now collects a lot of dust. The only parts that remain from the HP h8 are the CPU (thats why is not a K), the HD (that is why it is a WD Green), the Bluray drive and the 8 gigs of ram.

First thing I did was bought a new PSU (850 watt corsair) and GPU (Asus DC2 7970 3 slot beast) and Stuck it in the stock HP case (BARLEY FIT), they replaced a radeon hd 6850 and 430 watt PSU. it worked okay but the new GPU ran a little hot (80s) in the stock case with not much airflow. Latter I got a new case and mobo, 4 pack of fans and a h60 water cooler and fan controller. Now it runs nice and cool, GPU never goes above 68 and CPU 60.

Future upgrades will be a SSD and possibly another GPU (if I have room)

I have learned a lot with this build, looking back I probably could have done a few thing better (should have got a better case and mobo).. cant wait to build another rig but that won't be for awhile. Please leave any feadback I would love to know what you all think.

I also have a Samsung sync master BX2450 monitor, Logitech G10 keyboard and a R.A.T cyborg 7 mouse

I have to be honest... I was expecting an AMD CPU...

The case was the best one they had at my local part store. It was kinda a rushed purchase but I like the look of it and I have an AMD GPU at least

That's why I was saying the case was confusing me

Good build but you should have invested in a better case for a better cable management and airflow. You should adjust the prices to what you purchased them because I bet you did not purchase a 2600 at 420$. Was expecting red fans and not orange one but oh well ;).

Thanks for the feed back, no didn't pay $420, it came in a PC a bought for about a thousand, ya red fans would look great, my next build I will do a color scheme for sure.

Will you adjust the prices then ? Set the purchased price to what you paid :)

Yeah I adjusted the prices, but the CD drive, ram, and CPU are just estimates

Well as long as it reflects what you paid, it's all good ;). Thank you for adjusting !

Nice build.

Kick that CPU up to a i7-3770k and get another 7970.Pop in an SSD.....

Your PC will sodomize any other PC it comes in contact with. lol

Yeah that would be sweet! I plan to get a SSD ASAP, I really don't know if a another 7970 would fit, I may have to get a better/bigger mobo, my asus DC2 takes three slots. Do you think the CPU upgrade would be worth it? I mainly game.

How much do you estimate you spent total?

Its really hard to say because I recycled parts, I also paid a lot for some parts because I bought them from local PC shops and the they over charge big time but if I add it all up around $2000 over 2 years.

its awesome that you could recycle some parts, although i personally would want to upgrade that RAM when possible

It is tempting with prices so low but I don't think I would benefit enough if i did upgrade ram
