Description

This was my first PC build ever and i snagged so many sales i had room for a bigger SSD and a 3GB graphics card. LED's are actually purple but they show up blue on camera probably because they are ultraviolet. The interior pictures are a bit outdated but the only thing that's missing is the 3rd HDD. There are 9 case fan's in total including the fans on the CPU heatsink. I finished it on April 18th of 2013.

edit - 05/24/2013 I plan on adding some purple cold cathode lights, which i already ordered, because the UV lights from the fans just aren't doing it for me. The PC is such a wind tunnel with all those fans i keep em on low which in turn dims the lights.

edit - 05/28/2013 The purple cold cathodes came, i installed them. Put some pictures up (the last 3). I'm using the camera on my phone which isn't all that sophisticated so i have no real control of the white balance so depending on the lighting the camera picked up purple/blue but the lights are indeed a very pleasant light purple color and not a blue.

edit - 08/16/2013 Corsair H100i closed water cooler and Corsair fans.

Very similar to the build I plan on making this summer. Only things I have different are an MSI 7770 GHz edition GPU, Corsair 600W, and Samsung 840 pro 128GB + WD 1TB Black. Did you really need the 750W supply, I find that 600W (even 500W) is more than enough for our builds (including additional future parts). The one I'm buying is only $50 too :p. Over than that, looks great!

I got the 750W because i plan on upgrading in the future, possibly a 2nd 660 ti. GL on your build! :)

A little less on storage, more on GPU, i guess ?

Great, but I think the 7950 is a better value. By the way, purple LEDs are the sexiest.

i take it you happened to have the 80GB hard drive lying around somewhere? it's not every day someone has an SSD with more storage than one of their HDDs.

Yes, i yanked the extra 80GB hard drive out of my old Dell desktop. It's a super old model and it's really not good for anything but data storage. Plus with how old it is i don't trust it with backups.

i hear ya, always good to have a little bit of extra storage. just don't put anything too valuable on it :D

When I read the title I expected a watercooling loop with pastels UV white coolant and UV light strips and general awesomeness. It's just blue lights, I'm disappointed now, I love UV cooling loops :(

It's purple UV lights. And this was my first build, no way in hell am i tackling custom water cooling.

I don't blame you, water cooling is pretty daunting first time round.

I got it as a bundle deal from Micro Center.

Raid 0 on a hard drive is asking for trouble.

I had already gotten the 1tb and was under budget so i got another.

You can't back up your info enough too!! if that's what the 2 1TBes are there for!!

My main backup is a 1TB WD Elements external hahaha. But i did back up a windows image of a fresh install on one of the internals.

My fan controller only supports 7 fans, which i'm using for case fans. And i have 2 fans on the heatsink so in total that's 9 fans, more than enough for me lol.
