Description

Will be using this for gaming (counter-strike, diablo 3, simcity, etc.) and office/work. A little bit overkill for my needs but wanted something that will last me a good several years and will be able to handle next gen games. Last thing I'm waiting on is the gpu which I bought used from amazon. Will update once I have that in.

The RAM should be installed in the DIMMs with the same color. It should look like this: ERER or RERE E = Empty R = RAM

Hey man, i was thinking about buying that case for my upcoming build. How's it holding up for you? Do you recommend it at all? Also, great build man!

Do you plan on overclocking?

I reckon he should. No point in buying an unlocked processor and a great board if he won't overclock

The X60 is a dead giveaway. Yes!

Yes, definitely planning on overclocking. I'll update cpu clock rate, etc. once I get things running.

Nice parts but why do i only see 2 sata cables going in to the motherboard and i only see a dvd rw and a spin drive.... did ya forget to install the SSD?

Very observant ;) I'm still waiting for the SSD to arrive as well - that and the GPU are the only things that still haven't been delivered yet.

Nice build but why didn't you get the better GTX 770? Its pretty much the same price but out performs the GTX 680.

Anyway it's definetly a nice build.

I'll admit I originally was even thinking of going for the GTX 780... My friend talked me down from it though, saying it was way overkill and i could get better value for performance with some of the older cards. I found this GTX 680, slightly used, at a nice price, so decided to go with it. Even though the GTX 770 does perform a bit better than the GTX 680, I doubt I'll really be able to notice the difference at this point. I could definitely seen going for a GTX 770 being reasonable, but either way the GTX 680 is still a nice card.

I suppose if that was the case then there was a reason to get it. If you don't mind me asking, how much did the GTX680 cost you?

It's annoying to look at your build to see how cheap it was compared to the UK prices. We always have to pay quite a bit more. Something between 10 or 20% more than you Americans.

$343.44 for the gtx 680

Ok that's worth £225.

Wow that is really good value. Well done and hope it goes well but make sure that the graphics card is ok seeing was such a good price.

Good luck

Great build so far, congrats ! Also 200mm are useless IMO, 120 to 140mm fans are better due to their higher static pressure and also due to the fact that they actually push more Air.

How has the monitor treated you so far? I'm thinking about picking up the exact same one, but i've read reviews that mentioned dead pixels.

Ok man. So update it here. How is it tearing up the games? Did you get the parts in and setup?
