Description

It is hard to get pictures of the computer because of the tempered glass reflecting so sorry but I don't have a fancy camera!

I went with a yellow theme just because of the yellow stripe on my 1070. I love it so far because it's different. I've done red and black and white and black so I went yellow black grey and white lol.

I have reused parts from my last build.

This system is dead silent even when it's under full load. The GPU fans are crazy quiet because this card somehow stays very cool all the time. I play A LOT of Rainbow 6 Siege and I get 144hz at 1440p all the time so this card is good enough for me. You're probably wondering why I spent this much money but no 1080. Well a lot was reused and I just started college so I couldn't spend an extra 200 for the 1080 at the time. Maybe later. Also, I like a good looking computer up on my desk so there's that.

If you have any questions just comment (:

Thanks for looking!

EDIT: yes the red on the monitor stand kills me. I will paint it later. The red cable coming from the Sound Blaster amp will be replaced soon but it was the cable it came with. No worries I will fix (:

EDIT 2: yes the lights appear to be green in some pics, they arent in person just to clear that up (:

Whatever the colours actually are, kind of are, were intended to be; I like it. :)

1.9GHz clock speed on a 1070, that's almost a 1080 boost clock! Is that just this card's boost is there some over-volting involved to get there? Also; that's a lot of power for one card, is SLI on the horizon?

The only thing I'm not a fan of is that SABERTOOTH white board. But it's yours and if you love it, that's all that matters.

Great build mate.

reiddeason submitter 4 Builds 2 points 23 months ago

sorry the 1.9 is actually boost not core!! My mistake. I actually had a white and black build before and I reused the motherboard because I haven't conjured up the money for an x99 yet (; SLI will be in the future stay tuned

nakaman 3 Builds 1 point 23 months ago

The amp edition is huge and has a lot of power going too it. That thick cooler on it can OC nicely

Tpgeee 2 Builds 1 point 23 months ago

So yes? it is just the card's boost clock?

nakaman 3 Builds 1 point 23 months ago

Most likely

Billyharris123 1 Build 1 point 23 months ago

My MSI Gtx 1070 is boosted to 2.1 GHz so yeah definitely 1.9 isn't insane for boost clock on the 1070

Tpgeee 2 Builds 1 point 23 months ago

Nice.

Lyrix 1 point 23 months ago

"Also; that's a lot of power for one card, is SLI on the horizon?" I think he just got tricked in the "more power equals better power efficiency

SH4W -2 points 23 months ago

But bro, you can't critique the motherboard, personal rigs are incredibly subjective... Double standards much eh? Get outta' here

Tpgeee 2 Builds 1 point 23 months ago

I'm

It was a subjective comment.

Lyrix 1 point 23 months ago

whats wrong with you?!

SH4W 1 point 23 months ago

Doesn't matter bro. Had some beef in the comments.

DayQuil_Man 3 points 23 months ago

Finally, I'm glad to see someone who actually gets a pair of quality headphones and a separate mic instead of that gamer garbage. (I myself have a pair of dt 880s)

reiddeason submitter 4 Builds 2 points 23 months ago

I had "gamer garbage" before this weekend but I was just sick of it! It makes a HUGE difference in my gameplay! It's almost like cheating lol

Krodin 2 points 23 months ago

sennheiser + modmic = heaven... good build too... expensive stuff there take care of it :)

reiddeason submitter 4 Builds 2 points 23 months ago

I definitely will and the sound experience is phenomenal!

acrid56 1 Build 2 points 23 months ago

Yeah, screw gamer garbage. :P I have some logitech artemis spectrums, and granted, they are 'gamer gear' but they sounded amazing, and I needed something with a built in mic (I travel a bit, so it's difficult to set up a mic everywhere) and the mic is awesome.

ARabidPenguin13 1 Build 2 points 23 months ago

Personally I use HD 558's and an AT2020

Enrico411 2 points 23 months ago

Amazing build!! +1!!

reiddeason submitter 4 Builds 2 points 23 months ago

Thanks !

DaftPaul 2 points 23 months ago

Nice build mayne! I have the zotac gtx 1070 founders, so, glad too see someone else went with that manufacturer.

BamboozleTheBooty 2 points 23 months ago

There's only one way to actually describe this setup, ******' dope asf.

reiddeason submitter 4 Builds 1 point 23 months ago

I literally just laughed out loud!!

BamboozleTheBooty 2 points 23 months ago

That's what I'm here for. :)

Raz0r 2 points 23 months ago

Congratulations on the feature! :)

Would you mind explaining the Sound Blaster e5 as well as the Blue Yeti? Are you streaming for such a setup and is the Sound Blaster e5 worth it's price.

What exactly do you achieve by using it?

...or are you just a audiophile.... :P

I'm quite curious, because I never managed to get my perfect headset - setup....

reiddeason submitter 4 Builds 2 points 22 months ago

the sound blaster paired with my headphones are literally like cheating. You can hear EVERYTHING that normally you wouldn't hear or it would be muffled. The sound blaster actually has a mode called scout mode which pinpoints enemy movement in the headset. I would say it is worth the price only if you have a decent pair of headphones. I'm not an audiophile but there is a huge difference from my hyper x cloud 2. The blue yeti was actually a birthday gift and my friends say it sounds great so I just kept it(:

Raz0r 1 point 22 months ago

Thanks for the answer, hence I'm having the same pair of headphones I'm still reconsidering using them again. Currently using a Wireless H from Steelsteries. Before I used them with a Zalman 10$ Mic. However that was too much cables....

What kinda stand do you have for your microphone and do you always switch in Windows from your speakers to headset + microphone?

Thanks a bunch!

reiddeason submitter 4 Builds 1 point 22 months ago

Rhode PSA1 is the stand. Expensive but its of high quality. And I always listen to sound through my headset but yes if I needed to use my speakers I would do it through windows.

Raz0r 2 points 22 months ago

Thanks a lot for your help!

TJLano 1 Build 2 points 23 months ago

Nice build! This is a very solid build and I really dig the color scheme. Well done!

P.S. Make sure you lock this baby up while at college!

reiddeason submitter 4 Builds 1 point 22 months ago

thank you! and she's double dead bolted everyday (;

nn1229 2 points 20 months ago

Drop. Dead. Gorgeous. Nice job dude I love the build :)

reiddeason submitter 4 Builds 1 point 20 months ago

thank you (:

LechnerFlo 4 Builds 1 point 23 months ago

This...........is a fat gpu. +1 :)

reiddeason submitter 4 Builds 2 points 23 months ago

It is HUGE. Way bigger in person(;

MjolnirThunder 1 point 23 months ago

I actually really like the color scheme, the yellow and white go together pretty well. Whatever the green lights were supposed to look like, it still doesn't look too bad in the pics.

My only criticism is that the PSU is way overkill; my system has the exact same TPD as yours according to PCPP and I'm using a 750W PSU without issue.

reiddeason submitter 4 Builds 1 point 23 months ago

I planned to sli later on and I got this on sale a couple of months ago (:

MjolnirThunder 2 points 22 months ago

Suddenly the 1kW PSU seems way more appropriate. Nice work again!

Rbol250686 1 Build 1 point 23 months ago

Hi man! one question, where do you bought the yellow/gray sleeved cables? Very nice build btw!

ctmuck 2 Builds 1 point 23 months ago

I believe he got them at Cablemod. It's a great company. It can run you quite a bill though. But makes your machine beautiful

Tpgeee 2 Builds 1 point 23 months ago

Cable Mod ModMesh Sleeved white cables

The yellow cables are Lutro0 customs. Or what is now MAINframe Customs

reiddeason submitter 4 Builds 1 point 23 months ago

mainframe customs!!

montiago 1 Build 1 point 23 months ago

How is the mionix castor? I contemplated getting it, and am stuck between the Corsair M65 Pro, the Logitech G502 and that. I've been to the store to try the other two, but not the castor.

reiddeason submitter 4 Builds 1 point 23 months ago

It's hands down the best I've ever used. It feels great and the settings that are on the software can make it perfect for any user. It feels fantastic.

montiago 1 Build 1 point 23 months ago

I use palm/fingertip grip. Would you say it would work for me?

reiddeason submitter 4 Builds 1 point 23 months ago

that's what I use! Its honestly made for anyone. So yeah give it a shot if you don't like return it through amazon but I would say you're going to keep it for sure

montiago 1 Build 2 points 23 months ago

I think I might :)

Although, I'm all for brand consistency... Going with the Logitech G810 Spectrum keyboard, but I'll keep the castor in my list!

ewhac 2 Builds 1 point 23 months ago

It is hard to get pictures of the computer because of the tempered glass reflecting so sorry but I don't have a fancy camera!

The fanciness of the camera isn't what minimizes reflections/glare. It's a polarizing filter, which can be placed in front of any lens, including a cell phone camera.

reiddeason submitter 4 Builds 1 point 23 months ago

oh cool didn't know that! I will remember for next time!

Hackatacka 1 point 23 months ago

Great Job but y would u need glass at the other side of the case that's literally only for cables?

reiddeason submitter 4 Builds 1 point 23 months ago

Just to show off cable management if you're good at it. When people walk into my room they are first greeted by the tempered glass and it just gives it a wow factor that other cases don't have

Robolon 4 Builds 1 point 23 months ago

Thats a fitting title for any PC enthusiasts... Great Build! Awesome lightning...

reiddeason submitter 4 Builds 2 points 23 months ago

this is my 4th build in less than a year so its's true hahaha

beatboxingboy 1 Build 1 point 23 months ago

congrats on the feature!

reiddeason submitter 4 Builds 1 point 23 months ago

Thanks man couldn't do it without support!

beatboxingboy 1 Build 1 point 23 months ago

you are very welcome!

theos_helios 1 point 23 months ago

what fans are you using in the build?

reiddeason submitter 4 Builds 1 point 23 months ago

Thermaltake Riing RGB

Matthewtina2015 2 Builds 1 point 23 months ago

reiddeason submitter 4 Builds 1 point 23 months ago

HTC 10 (:

ah. thanks

Wi1dCard2210 1 Build 1 point 23 months ago

Dat video card thicc

lol but seriously that's some insane power for a college build.

reiddeason submitter 4 Builds 1 point 23 months ago

It took a lot of saving before college hahaha thanks!

jsoutherland89 4 Builds 1 point 23 months ago

Well done!

reiddeason submitter 4 Builds 2 points 23 months ago

soundreaper 1 Build 1 point 23 months ago

Kidhitler 1 point 23 months ago

love the colors

reiddeason submitter 4 Builds 1 point 23 months ago

thanks!

NLR 1 point 23 months ago

How is that monitor working for you? I plan to get one when I upgrade, and reviews on it are kinda scarce. Excellent color matching and theme, I'll be doing something similar when I upgrade. +1

reiddeason submitter 4 Builds 1 point 23 months ago

Reviews are from past so don't trust the ones about QC issues because acer fixed the issues! The monitor is fantastic and if you have the hardware to push one then get it!

NLR 1 point 23 months ago

I'll be getting the 1080 version of your card + a 5820k, should be plenty of power :)

reiddeason submitter 4 Builds 1 point 23 months ago

Very nice!! The 1080 might be sometime in the future but not now lol

Logical_Motion 3 Builds 1 point 23 months ago

Riiiing instant +1

reiddeason submitter 4 Builds 1 point 23 months ago

Thanks!!

PigWithAMustache 2 Builds 1 point 23 months ago

Certainly not a common color theme, but i like the build. And i like the name, I'm never satisfied with my build myself lol. Also, congrats on featured build!

reiddeason submitter 4 Builds 1 point 23 months ago

Thanks!!

wasupduck 1 point 23 months ago

kool look +1

reiddeason submitter 4 Builds 1 point 23 months ago

reiddeason submitter 4 Builds 1 point 23 months ago

thanks got it on sale on amazon

reiddeason submitter 4 Builds 1 point 23 months ago

lol

acrid56 1 Build 1 point 23 months ago

Yes. Finally something unique. Great job on the color scheme! Your choice of aesthetics is also impeccable. I love the fans especially.

reiddeason submitter 4 Builds 1 point 23 months ago

Thank you!!

Soundelite 1 point 23 months ago

I'm not going to lie to you but when I saw that case I was thinking to myself that my case looked better. But when I saw the case I started laughing at myself and calling my self a hater. Anyways great job with the build and I can't wait for mine to come in.

reiddeason submitter 4 Builds 1 point 23 months ago

this case looks WAY better in person!

Soundelite 1 point 23 months ago

Really.... I thought the case looked sexy *** hell when I first saw it with clean cable management skills and the led lights. I think that's what got me the most oh and how spacious it was from the inside. But nonetheless I was going to go all out in this first build. I have all the parts I need I'm just waiting a year for the new GTX 1080TI plus I'm saving my money as well.

reiddeason submitter 4 Builds 1 point 23 months ago

The inside is very spacious I took out all the HDD drives in the bottom to make it even more spacius because I only use ssds

ImperiousBattlestar 1 point 23 months ago

Great build, +1 :)

reiddeason submitter 4 Builds 1 point 23 months ago

thank you (:

shadowbyte918 4 Builds 1 point 23 months ago

that gpu is t h i c c a f

reiddeason submitter 4 Builds 1 point 23 months ago

yesss it is(:

Alkatraz501 1 point 23 months ago

Just out of curiosity: why did you use a 1000 watt power supply? Is it for overclocking or to compensate for the whole build? Don't get me wrong, I am not judging, in fact the build looks nice, but I just want to know the reason behind that one component.

reiddeason submitter 4 Builds 1 point 23 months ago

for sli later on! Plus I got a good deal on it (:

Alkatraz501 1 point 23 months ago

That makes sense. Thank you for the clarification.

Frozzty 1 point 23 months ago

Simply Awesome

reiddeason submitter 4 Builds 1 point 23 months ago

Thanks man (:

trevvorlever12 1 Build 1 point 23 months ago

DAMN! What a clean build man! I really enjoy the color scheme, very pleasing to look at. I say great job on the build, I hope it serves you well.

reiddeason submitter 4 Builds 1 point 23 months ago

Thank you! I never was into yellow into I made a yellow themed pc and it looks better than I would have ever thought

WOrm 1 point 23 months ago

looks awesome, great lighting and cables, that is definetly going to be my next case, i'm currently on the h440 from nzxt

reiddeason submitter 4 Builds 1 point 23 months ago

I've had that case! It was my first build!

IvanReilly 1 point 23 months ago

Really nice build mate!

reiddeason submitter 4 Builds 1 point 23 months ago

Thanks (:

SmartWolf 1 point 23 months ago

Is it just me? or are there a crap ton of Evolve builds these recent 2 weeks?!!

I mean like 50-75% of builds are evolve builds.

reiddeason submitter 4 Builds 1 point 23 months ago

It's that tempered glass (;

SmartWolf 1 point 23 months ago

Yeah i do like it too. It's in my top 5 for sure. very nice.

reiddeason submitter 4 Builds 1 point 23 months ago

well thanks (:

Jackson_Tyler96 3 Builds 1 point 23 months ago

How do you like the Mionix Castor? I swear by my Logitech G502 but you can't help but wonder if maybe there is something even better out there...

I've heard great things about it.

Great build btw +1

reiddeason submitter 4 Builds 1 point 23 months ago

thankyou! and so far it is by far my favorite mouse. Its so smooth and it tracks so well. It's very comfortable to hold for long gaming sessions and the mionix software is pretty straightforward.

LonghornAlamo2040 1 point 23 months ago

I wanna say there has been a gross misallocation of funds...but if you're happy then **** me and anyone who says otherwise.

reiddeason submitter 4 Builds 1 point 23 months ago

Not all of this was bought at once. Some parts have gone through 3 builds

LonghornAlamo2040 1 point 23 months ago

Ah, that makes sense. Great build btw, it turned out very nice.

reiddeason submitter 4 Builds 1 point 23 months ago

Thank you!

XxPCbuilder2016xX 1 point 23 months ago

Hey how are the headphones?

reiddeason submitter 4 Builds 1 point 22 months ago

literally like cheating. I'm not sure if you have to have the amp to push them but it helps a ton tbh

TheMightestOfUsAll 1 point 22 months ago

I am so torn on those Thermal Take fans lol. How do they perform?

reiddeason submitter 4 Builds 2 points 22 months ago

amazing.. they are CRAZY quiet and the airflow is incredible. I kid you not, the system is not audible at 90% of the time.

Alanos_Bandanos 1 Build 1 point 22 months ago

This looks quite spectacular mate. Well done. Nice pick on the GPU too, that's the one I'm going for its a total beast. Great colour scheme too. Nicely coordinated.

reiddeason submitter 4 Builds 1 point 22 months ago

thank you (:

rfisher218 1 Build 1 point 22 months ago

The specs on the mobo say it supports DDR4 2133 & 2400. Did you have any issues with your DDR4 2666?

reiddeason submitter 4 Builds 2 points 22 months ago

No I never have issues and it runs at 2666 all the time anyways!

rfisher218 1 Build 1 point 22 months ago

Good to know bc this is almost the same setup I'm currently buying parts for and that's been only pause with the Sabertooth.

Did you have manually OC it or it just is what it is? Most mobos say in the specs that it'll run up to 3200 OC'd but this one only says 2133 and 2400.

reiddeason submitter 4 Builds 1 point 22 months ago

it automatically overclocks it. Sometimes itll be around 2800.

rfisher218 1 Build 1 point 22 months ago

You are correct. Since my last response, I discovered that the mobo supports Intel XMP which, when enabled, auto-OCs the ram.

Which is good because that was the only thing that gave me pause about it. Once I learned that, I ordered it to put in my 1st build.

Fili98 1 point 22 months ago

I love yellow and black builds. This is stunning. +1 :D

reiddeason submitter 4 Builds 1 point 22 months ago

thank you(:

TarikSonmez 1 point 21 months ago

Here is my question. Can you enable xmp profile on this mobo for your ram because on every website, it says that this motherboard could take 2400 mhz ram. A very nice build btw +1 from me.

reiddeason submitter 4 Builds 1 point 21 months ago

yes you can. my ram boosts to 2667 mhz all the time. and thank you

thatderpm8 1 point 21 months ago

how did you get the os for 40 dollars

[comment deleted by staff]
ThoughtA staff 1 point 21 months ago

The sale of those keys violate Microsoft ToS, and the keys may be unexpectedly disabled. Recommending, suggesting, advising, encouraging, hinting, or in any way implying these keys as a solution or option is not allowed on this site.

reiddeason submitter 4 Builds 1 point 21 months ago

My bad. Is this a more appropriate answer to that question? >>@thatderpm8 just search on google, you'll figure it out. Just trying to figure out how to answer without violating rules, I honestly didn't know it was a rule.

ThoughtA staff 1 point 20 months ago

Recommending, suggesting, advising, encouraging, hinting, or in any way implying

Meaning that suggesting the person search Google with the intention they find that site or a similar one still violates the rules. Purchasing from there or other gray-market sites is not actually what everyone does. People do it, but many do not. This is for a reason.

ProjectNZT 1 Build 1 point 11 months ago

Great aesthetics but..i5? you have a 1080ti from Zotac and you put i5 in your computer?

reiddeason submitter 4 Builds 1 point 11 months ago

sorry for the late reply but some parts were used from a previous build!

felohany 0 points 23 months ago

why i5?

Tpgeee 2 Builds 3 points 23 months ago

why not i5?

confuzledandlost 39 Builds 2 points 23 months ago

Because the 6600k and GTX 1070 pair well, especially since it sounds like he's just using this rig for gaming. If you want more supporting evidence for why the 6600k is more than capable of holding it's own when paired with high end GPU's (even in SLI) I can shoot you some links lol

MjolnirThunder 2 points 23 months ago

Because anything more for gaming alone yields diminishing returns.

reiddeason submitter 4 Builds 2 points 23 months ago

like i said just reusing parts from other builds plus its the best for gaming no need for anything stronger

Wi1dCard2210 1 Build 2 points 23 months ago

because it's one of the best bang-for-your-buck processors?

AndrewKVK 0 points 23 months ago

tldr Never Satisfied=1070

reiddeason submitter 4 Builds 1 point 23 months ago

?? What's wrong with a 1070?

AndrewKVK 0 points 23 months ago

Nothing, it is amazing price/performance, but it's not the best, and "Never Satisfied" means you want more/better. I'm just joking around about the name a bit. I do like how you spent that little bit that could have gotten a 1080 on aesthetics though, it looks amazing.

reiddeason submitter 4 Builds 2 points 23 months ago

Well pretty much what I meant by never satisfied is I never stop changing my PC! This is the 4th time I've changed it in a year lol

zachthegam3r 0 points 21 months ago

reiddeason submitter 4 Builds 1 point 21 months ago

Your opinion on what you think your rig should look like is wrong because my opinion is that it doesn't look good.

  • SH4W, 2016

Honestly mate, it's a custom build. It most likely looks that way because /u/reiddeason wants it to. Something like personal rigs are incredibly subjective.

RhettRO55 1 Build 4 points 23 months ago

slow clap

Tpgeee 2 Builds 3 points 23 months ago

This.

SH4W 3 points 23 months ago

Firstly, that is not at all what I said.

Secondly, If you cannot use quotations properly, please don't use them at all. How you interpret what I say and what I say are two very different things. You're just making yourself look stupid.

Thirdly, you mention how "something like personal rigs are incredible subjective" (BTW that is how you quote someone properly). If you appreciate something for being subjective like his/her rig, you would also appreciate my criticism for being "incredible subjective."

I put my advice out for the taking, I was not forcing anything, the OP can take it or leave it or do whatever he wants with it. The build was so good there was hardly anything wrong with it which is why you may have thought I was being harsh, as there was not many things to critique on.

What's the point of posting builds if people can't give feedback on them?

Just something for you to think about, Cheers -SH4W

CRS10114 7 Builds 0 points 23 months ago

I will admit, I exaggerated a bit. I realize I did not quote what you said, but that's kind of the point of me "quoting" you (consider even further the fact that the quotation formatting is exactly like how 4chan does greentext).

Personal rigs are just that. Personal. There's no point in criticizing the subjective aspects of a build, at least not to the point to where you start suggesting that the submitter should change said aspects. On the other hand, it is perfectly fine to criticize something like cable management, fan configuration, etc. because those are objective aspects to the build. (Just a nitpick here, but I said "incredibly." Not "incredible.")

Either you, a moderator, or an admin deleted your original post, so I can't go back to see what you said.

I understand not having the same thematic tastes as other builders, and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. From what I read, it indeed sounded like you were being harsh, which is why I paraphrased you that way.

I am legitimately sorry for taking what you said the wrong way, and for essentially bringing a rain of downvotes upon you. Hopefully we can both look past this and go on with our lives.

Best regards, CRS10114

SH4W 3 points 23 months ago

It's all good man, I forgive you. I can understand how I may have come across as harsh. I'd rather not have a comment way over something as small as, well a comment.

Take care, SH4W

CRS10114 7 Builds 1 point 23 months ago

Likewise.

reiddeason submitter 4 Builds 5 points 23 months ago

there is no green in the pc. Read the description and you will see that the lens on the camera makes it appear to be green. It is in fact all the same color yellow. And the desk I built myself so ill be keeping that (;

RhettRO55 1 Build 1 point 23 months ago

+1 for homemade desk. Going to be condensing an edit rig and a gaming rig myself into a single build in the Corsair 900D (probably) and building myself a new desk as well.

acrid56 1 Build 2 points 23 months ago

If I can make a suggestion (based on a personal wish of mine), and the fact that you already have two rigs- wire a server an render rig into your desk or on the back of your case, and use it as a sort of server to keep clutter on. If you are building your own desk, you could have the potential for some truly awesome work;)

RhettRO55 1 Build 1 point 23 months ago

I actually already have 2 servers built in U-NAS enclosures, a 5TB RAID-1 one for for file storage, music storage and streaming and all PCs in the home to backup to, the other is a 24TB purely for movies and TV shows. But both of those are in a little $20 walmart shelf with my WinDVR box, router, switch, HDHomeRunPrime etc and will soon be moving into another room. Attributes a little bit to the heat but not a lot, just mostly to get some more space back. My wife gave me my own room angelic music plays when we moved into our new house after getting married and I have a decent amount of space in the room, but my desk is kind of an odd duck that Ive had since college and refuse to give up, but I would like it to be a little less cluttered. I'll make a post when I condense the PCs and I'll tag you in it.

Building is much better because you get what you want! Goodluck!

I thought it may have been the camera distorting the lights. The build looks rad though, always love seeing the 'bulldozer' theme ;)

Im sorry wait what ..... clean up WHAT on his desk!? There is literally nothing there except his perphs, a printer and a few figurines. HOW IN THE WORLD does that constitute needing to be cleaned up??

SH4W -1 points 23 months ago

I only mentioned the long cord on his desk. The figurines are great as they add some personality. There really wasn't much to say really, but the setup definitely would look cleaner if the cable was routed under the desk.
