Description

Hi guys!!!!! =D It has been just about 3 weeks since I've finished building my first riggg!!!!!! YAYYY!

I reused my old PC's Dell speakers because old speakers still work! :P I also kept my dear mouse which I like lotsssss. :)

I did not buy a graphics card, because I wanted to try out the Haswell's integrated 4600 on League of Legends before spending another $100+ on my machine :( To my surprise, I can play 100-150 FPS on all high settings w/ no shadows on League. Borderless and windows mode kills FPS haha. I will buy a GPU when I start playing some other games or when my PC can't handle league at medium settings anymore (:

Building my first rig was EXTREMELY exciting. It took me 2 months on just picking the parts! Looking for discounts and stuff was a pain in the butt, too. :( It took me literally 6+ hours to build this baby.. Reading manuals and researching take forever haha

I do not have cable management skills. x( Can somebody give me suggestions on how to organize the cables? I think i will improve it when I clean out my computer :P

All I can say is, I'm pretty proud of myself =D. Bye guys. HEHE.

Please no mean comments :( Thanks. LOL. :)

CPU - The i5-4670K is great! Integrated graphics can run League at 100-150FPS on all high with no shadows. What more can I ask for? :)

Mobo - I don't know much about motherboards, but I didn't want to go too cheap on it. Got this at Microcenter with a CPU combo, AWESOME DEAL. I like the Debug LED code so I know what's going on if something went wrong :). The only problem is that it's red. I know it sounds kind of stupid because I originally wanted to color code my PC.

RAM - I heard a lot of really good reviews on the Ripjaw X Series. Maybe I should have gotten that for about $10 pricier + higher speed. But honestly, I have no complaints on the Sniper. Works really well and LOVING the design. :)

HDD - No complaints at all :)

Wireless Adapter - This is an OKAY adapter. Probably would have given a 4 star if my PC was on the same floor as modem/router. After setting it up, I was getting 3mbps. It kept on disconnecting too.. I had to change the channel in order to get around 25mbps. Hope this would last for a while!

Case - Very nice case! However, I had to mount my HDD into the slot because the case does not come with the holders for me to easily slide it in. They have one right under the optical drive though. BUT ????

Optical Drive - I only use it to install softwares, no complaints for now. Works fine!

PSU - Love it, semi modular.

Monitor - No problems with this monitor. Love it!

Keyboard- Thought the large print looked really weird and awkward. After it came in, I liked it a lot. Especially the purple :)

Mouse - My 4 years old mouse still works fine! However the side rubber is coming off. I think it's getting old :P

Since you only use integrated graphics, i would've gotten an apu.

O: I will look into that when I build my second machine! Thanks for the suggestion!

I understand your attachment to that mouse, I have an older version that sadly is worn beyond usablilty. I had to replace it and got a Microsoft 3500 (piece of battery munching junk) and after 3 month and 10 batteries I bought a Razer Death adder. Its nice but its just not the same. BTW the Microsoft mouse it advertised as having an 8 month battery life and uses 1 battery. I averaged 2 weeks. My old logitech would go 6 months easy.

10 batteries within 3 months!! That's a lot! Yes, I only changed my batteries 4-5 times in over 4 years. It's awesomeeeeee :D

Actually now that I think of it, my 2 week average would make it 5 months, but still insane haha.

fyi you may be able to overclock the gpu to about 1250mhz and gain a bit extra boost out of it

If you throw something like a gtx 760 in there now you'll have yourself a great answer to the upcoming generation of consoles. You can also get the games dirt cheap on digital services like steam / origin / amazon.

Nice, well done! Can I ask what the silver device/box is to the left of the build?

Not a bad build. But League of Legends really doesn't take much in terms of graphics power. My sister is running a Radeon HD 4770 and she can play it flawlessly on highest settings.

If you plan to play resource hungry games, you should throw in a Radeon HD 7970 to round the price up to a little over $1000. That's what I would do, anyway. :)

Thanks! Yes I agree! I will definitely look into that when I play higher graphic games! :)

Thanks! I thought it was a pretty weird keyboard, too. LOL. I got it 'cause it is cheap and illuminated w/ three colors. Low profile and it feels like a laptop keyboard which I really like :) It seems pretty cute to me now though :D
