Description

I built this machine as a backup PC. Didn't really go well, but whatever. I used all brand new parts except for the PSU, because I had it laying around in my basement. All together, this build costed me $203. It is alright for now..

Part Reviews

Motherboard

Wish it had USB 3 connectors, but its ok other than that.

Storage

Kinda small, but its super fast.

Case

Little room for cable management, but it looks really nice. By far one of my favorite cases.

I see no sin with the parts list. You wanted something cheap and this will fit the bill well. +1

I put a mobo with no USB 3 and a case with USB 3 Ignorance + Time

ajpinton 11 Builds 2 points 16 months ago

This is normal on low end and older motherboards. The USB3 header costs money and that gets passed on to the customer. The USB3 header is also relatively recent so older AM3+/FM2+/LGA1150 motherboards wont have one, these are normally the cheaper motherboards too due to their age.

Thankfully you can get a USB2 header adapter to plug in the USB3 lead so the ports will work all be it at USB2 speeds. It would drive me nuts having dead USB ports on my computer.
