Description

This is my 3rd attempt at a build, but the first time it was primarily for gaming.

The extra 8gb of ram ended up being free due to an Amazon error.

Tried my best at cable management, but gave up when the front panel wires werent long enough, aswell as the motherboard cable only just reaching. Ill probably go back and try and sort it a bit more at a later stage. The extra power cables are all through the back of the case and under the hdd area, so they look better than in the photo.

As always, a week after i finished this I got an email about a sata3 ssd for £4 more !

Update: Tidied up the cables a lot more, and added the Zalman CNPS5X

Isn't that always what happens? That or when you get ready to buy the price goes back up? lol

Nice build. Could use a little work on the cables. Try to run them back through the mobo or tie them down with zip ties. Check newegg for a cable extender. usually they are pretty cheap. Game on!

You might want to flip the psu over so the fan will be facing down. It will make the cables closer to the other side, thus making it seem longer as it might be able to be routed behind the back.

I'm not sure I would like my case acting like a hoover and sucking all the dust from the floor (IF case has a hole at the bottom, if it doesn't I simply wouldn't block the air intake to the PSU!).

OP's case has a dust filter on the bottom, to help keep dust from getting in case. Also, you shouldn't have your computer on the floor.

I don't keep the computer in the floor, guess Desktop naming can be applied fully :) - good to know this case has filters at the bottom, then seems a viable option :)

Just pointed out two possible flaws, but I wish to emphasize 'possible' and also accept I was wrong.

Got a zalman CPU cooler on the way, so when I open it up to fit that I'll have another crack at it.

Please provide a link to prove that the MSI g45 is the superior motherboard.

Also, the barracuda is just as good as a WD black, all hard drives have the chance to fail at any moment, why pay double for fake reassurance?

There is no Source 410. There is the Source 210, 210 elite, 220 and the Tempest 410.

Fun Fact: SLI is for Nvidia cards. Crossfire is for AMD cards. His board doesn't support SLi, but it does support Crossfire according to this: http://www.gigabyte.us/products/product-page.aspx?pid=4147#ov

The fact that it looks cooler is COMPLETELY the decision of the OP.

That review pretty much proved my point. Half of that review was about how it performed as a boot drive. He isn't using it as a boot drive. The other half was synthetic benchmarks and a few small real world tests that showed that the difference might have been seconds, and that the barracuda actually won a few.

I've seen your comments all over this website and nearly everyone of them is either an insult to the decisions of the OP (not constructive criticism), or a random "Watevs" or "ok" that adds nothing to the discussion.

Regardless, the build is already built.
