Description

I wanted a machine that would be decent for casual gaming but also powerful enough for sporadic A/V editing work. I splurged a bit extra on memory because I've never had more than 8GB before and just wanted that lightning-fast responsive feeling that is hard to achieve on Windows. So far so good!

I already had a great case and power supply, a SSD and peripherals, so I thought I could budget between $750-$1000. Turned out that I had to get a new SSD as well, but still managed to stay under the 1k limit :)

Wow, this is almost the exact build I am planning to build myself. I just want a silent case and the RAM and Video Card Brands ware different.

Any regrets so far? 32GB really worth it? Did you overclock the CPU and is the CPU cooler doing a good job? Why did you choose Asus for the Video Card brand?

No regrets, I am really enjoying this build! I haven't really done anything interesting with it though... no overclocking so I can't speak to that, but I've been told that it should perform well.

32gb of RAM is definitely fun but TBH it's probably not necessary. And there is no real reason I chose Asus for the brand except that it was available from one of my preferred stores with fast shipping, and I have had good experiences with Asus in the past.

Alright, thank you. I was hoping you did overclock, but still very helpful ;)

Your cpu fan is on backwards. It is fighting your exhaust fan..
