Description

I have used my old system since 2007 only ever making slight upgrades to everything when it couldn't quite run my old games reasonably, the specs of my last pc in its final form, was a 9950 phenom, 2gb of slow ram, and a 9800GTX, it was great getting me through my Call of Duty 2, 4 and original Far Cry days, however moving onto this generation of games it was lagging behind on everything, and load times were mind numbing!

Getting my 1st full time job in the summer has finally allowed me to create a build from scratch as my early Christmas present. Recently have began playing The War Z (zombie survival) and anxiously awaiting Far Cry 3!

I started out wanting the 3570k and a the GTX 670 and built around that, unfortunately i've wasted a few pounds getting 2133mhz ram which the motherboard scales down to 1600mhz.

The Solid state has a clean install of windows 7 professional, with the intention to upgrade to 8 when a service pack arrives. The CPU Cooler unfortunately hasn't arrived yet so i am stuck with the stock cooler, so no overclocking for now but it still runs great!

The case is a beauty, (more so on the inside than the out) it comes with 5 internal fans that keep my legs chilly, and the processor nice and cool, aswell as a nice design that allows for reasonable neatness, even though wasn't focusing on this aspect at all!

It eats up War Z on ultra and max 1680x1050 (monitor max) and will get back to you about Far Cry 3!

(will update with pics asap)

Why don't you get G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 8GB DDR3-1600, your 2133 won't serve.

You upgraded for the same reasons I am. My computer is starting to show it's age, so I'm building something a little under your budget. I've also been wanting to try WarZ, and play Far Cry 3, but what are you using the SSD for? It has almost no storage. I was thinking of buying an extra SSD, but I don't know what to use it for...

Hi MasterRD

With the SSD, (im no expert) i have used it for a clean Windows 7 install, windows boots and resarts in about 10 seconds, which is divine, The updates etc drivers, are going on there too...

I was going to put Far Cry 3 on there, but it runs amazingly on my larger 1tb drive so no need...

Also, you should really get on War Z and Far Cry 3, 2 of the best games I have played, War Z for the community play and FC3 for the epic views and storyline!
