Description

Used mostly for FSX but gaming capable as well. Also used as a workstation for school. My first build in a really long time. after sales and rebates, final price ended up being around $1500. looks like 2 years on industry research paid off with $500 in savings :-)

Had some trouble getting a stable overclock with this processor. anything over 4.2 was hard to get stable. the best i've been able to do is 4.5 at 1.25 vcore which ran 6 hours of prime95 FFT before freezing. It does survive Intels burn test and LinX but temps are in the low 90s which makes me very uncomfortable. I do appear to have an above average processor seeing how I was able to boot and run windows at 4.6 and 1.2 vcore.

Edit: Upgraded from the 2gb video card to the 4gb one. cost the same as the first one so I thought why not. since it has 2 8-pin power headers, it overclocks a lot better and is much more stable at 1358 and I was able up the memory to 8000

No it's a Phantek cooler, also a very good tower cooler similar to the Noctua NH-D14

Very nice build, I guess you plan on Doing something with that 1000watt PSU, even if not, It's still a pretty sweat deal on a 1000watt psu, But even 750watt would've been more than enough even for SLI.

I will be going sli eventually, which is why I opted for the 1000w over a 750w or 850w. I didn't feel that 750 would be enough, maybe 850, with sli. I'd rather have more than I need than not enough. might also build myself a water loop next summer if i get the funds.

750 would've been enough for 770 sli. And 850watt would've been enough for waterloop aswell.

well I guess I got a lot of head room then. I'll get a power meter so I know what my computer is pulling so i have a better idea of what i need next time.

Its my first gaming mouse, so i don't have much to compare to, but its incredibly smooth; very high quality. Its a little small in m hand, but I have massive hands so i'm sure it would be fine for a normal person.
