+ Total (United Kingdom):
This is my first ever PC build. I have been waiting 3 years to build a PC and after all that research, saving and waiting it's finally here.
I built this PC primarily for high fidelity 1080p gaming but I also wanted it to last a few years so I decided to go with an RX 480 4GB and an i5 6500. These were the best price-for-performance parts at the time of purchase, so I think they'll do nicely.
This PC was built on a budget so there was a few compromises I made here and there so that I could buy it sooner and also so that I didn't have to sacrifice on the core components allowing me to buy what I wanted. For example, this system does not yet have a HDD and so is limited to a 250GB SSD. I also wanted to buy 16GB of RAM but I decided to go with 8GB. I made these decisions so I could afford an RX 480 rather than an RX 470 and an i5 6500 rather than an i5 6400.
I will be purchasing a 1TB HDD and 8GBs more RAM when I can afford it.
All in all the build process was easy (Thanks to this great case, I will be writing a short review on it shortly), and I absolutely no regrets about my choice of components. The only mistake I made was buying 2400MHz RAM when the Motherboard I have does not support oveclocking RAM past 2133 MHz. But this error only cost me a pound or two so it is one I can live with.
Photos of the build, please note that my camera is awful (Thanks, HTC M8!)
21c idle, 50c under load with the stock cooler. Not a bother in it, my PC is lightning fast!
A great motherboard, has nearly all of the features of an ATX board in a smaller form factor.
My only gripe is that it only has 2 SYSFAN connectors, which means you will most likely need to get a PWM fan splitter or a fan controller to use all of your fans.
Looks great, does what it's supposed to. What more could you ask for?
Boots my PC up in under 10 seconds, what more could you ask for?
BEAUTIFUL card. Mine only hits 60c under load and can be overclocked to 1400MHz on the GPU and 2000MHz (at least, didn't bother pushing further yet) on the memory.
Fantastic card for 1080p gaming and is well capable of 1440p too!
This is a great case for the price. It's very sturdy, it features almost an inch of cable management space behind the MoBo tray, comes with 2 pre-installed blue LED fans which are nice and quiet and seem to provide good airflow, it's very easy to build in, the window is a great size and shows off all the important bits of your case while hiding the ugly drive cages and drive bays, and it looks great. It also comes with a removable dust filter for the top and one for under the PSU. I believe it also has a filter on the front of the case (I have not checked, so dont quote me on that).
The only slight shortcomings with this case are that it only supports 4 120mm fans when it could easily support 5 and that there are no rubber grommets on the case to help with hiding ugly cables. The case also seems to have an indent for a 3rd USB port on the front but they didn't put one there, which is odd.
Apart from that it's perfect! Highly recommended! Feel free to contact me in order to ask questions, I can be found on Steam and Origin under the same username. Thanks!
Great PSU. All of the included cables are black and low profile. The only cable that was difficult to maneuver was the MoBo power cable, which cannot be bent close to the connector so it can make cable management a little less tidy.
I wish Win7 supported DX12.
Quiet, good airflow, stealthy design. I love it!
