Description

Couldn't think of a name so I called it Dave

Intro:

Basically I bought an imac, realised I had made a huge mistake, got a job, sold the mac, and built this instead.

Parts and why:

Processor: i7 6700k (Skylake) Basically I wanted an i7 for some light video editing, music editing and gaming. So why not got for intels newest processor?

CPU cooler: Corsair H100i GTX Cant go wrong with these coolers. Looks cool, runs cool .

Motherboard: Asus MAXIMUS VIII HERO Damn this thing is cool. Really simple bios screen and overclocking is a breeze. I can only recommend this motherboard. You can even change the colour of the light to say, orange perhaps.

Storage: Samsung M.2 SSD and Sandisk SSD Got the Samsung to save the operating system on as I heard they are rather quick (boots up from shut down in 5 seconds, good gosh) and I got the sandisk SSD as it was on sale on amazon for £40 which was an offer I couldn't refuse.

Video Card: Do I even need to explain this one?

Case: Corsair 760t: This looks like something Tony Stark would own which was why I initially wanted it, it is massive and has plenty of room for upgrades, the air flow is good but I had to buy some magnets for the top cover of the case to allow for the cpu cooler to have some where to exhaust to, (I got this idea off HenryZhu) cable management is easy as pie.

Power Supply Corsair 750w: Efficient and powerful.

Nzxt Hue: adds a touch of brightness

Cables: Ooo red

Is that mobo better than an Asus Z170 Mark 1 (The TUF thingy mobo)?

I don't have too much knowledge of the Sabretooth but I will say that this motherboard does everything I want and more.

Is it loud or dead-silent?

it is Virtually silent I never notice it, I can adjust the speed of the fans from my pc as they are connected to the motherboard. the 4 settings are Silent, Standard, Performance and Full speed, they are silent up until full speed it is only on full speed that I notice them :)

Cool build! Why not remove the hard drive cage for some better air flow?

Thanks, and I did remove the hard drive cage but it just made the pc look a bit empty lol
