Description

this is a build that i made in january 2014,it runs most if not all games maxed out at a good playable fps, usually 60fps (i run at 900p) this pc has a gtx 480 which run very hot, and after about an hour of gaming it gets to over 100c if you have the fan speed on automatic, so i have it on manual which keeps it under about 80c.

i know in teh build it says i have red fans, but all my fans are blue, pcpartpicker just doesnt have the blue ones.

some things i had left over from my old pc so i sued them which is why the prices are 0

I have serious doubts that a GTX 480 runs everything on ultra. Also, did you have it left over (that's what I'm assuming, nobody in their right mind would buy a GPU that old for gaming).

yeh it really does, its better than a gtx 660 and that maxes almost everything

Not true. The benchmarks on the Nvidia site show the 660 beating the 570, which is marginally superior to the 480. Whoever you bought it from may have lied to you.

Wait, what's "almost everything?"

You should manually change the prices to give people a better idea of the reasons behind you buying those parts. Also mark as 0 parts that you reused from old builds. @ Everyone bashing the 660 - he plays at 900p. At that resolution I'd say the CPU has equal if not superior priority to the GPU. I am curious as to why you chose that particular CPU though. Did you get a good deal for it as well? (That's why adjusting the prices manually would help people understand your reasons for building with these particular parts) +1 from for not jumping on the bandwagon and paying tons for a GPU, which is going to be left unused @900p.

How did you adjust the fan speeds for your GTX? I am looking to do the same on mine, as the fans run at 50% while the card is hitting 85C.

"Probably not as good"

Hello? This is first generation Fermi vs GCN 1.0 and 1.1. Not sure of the reasoning behind that comment.

Nice build, I am confused on why people are so mad about the 480. It will do fine at 900p, you don't need a lot more than that.

1080p is the standard now.

There is not a need to downvote; you never said you did. That is probably why you can max everything

it probably only runs like lol at ultra and WHY ON EARTH DID U BUY A GRAPHICS CARD THAT OLD AND CRAPPY?

First off, why would you even post such a rude comment. His card will do fine at the resolution, and it is probably a lot better than the integrated dell graphics in your Windows XP laptop. You seem to have no experience with this card, so your comment makes you looks unintelligent.

First off I have had a build with a gtx 480 and let me tell u it is a piece of trash. Second of all I have a i7 3960x and two gtx 780s not an xp laptop

I really do not completely believe that you have that PC, (even though that is none of my business.) A gtx 480 is very old, but it will run his resolution fine, and you shouldn't go around insulting people's PC's.

its not crappy, its better than a gtx 660 and nearly matches a 760

What Mitch is saying is right. In raw performance numbers it's not that far behind a 760, but I still think you're crazy for buying something so loud and hot.
