Description

It's a unicorn... but fat, black, and short. This build is for gaming and running my school project.

First, I wanted to minimize the total cost, so that all the parts were bought separately every time any of them is on sale.

i5-4690k : great balance between price and performance, I overclocked at 4.5GHz and it stay under 70C all the time. (peak 75C during stress test)

Seidon 120M : Since I can't use tall tower cooler and limited to 120mm radiator. This is my best choice.

Asus Z97i-Plus : exceptional mobo from Asus with ton of extras. I also considered Asrock Z97 but it only has 2 fan headers.

RAM : Not much to talk about.

Samsung SSD : Amazing speed, I'm lucky to get it on sale. WD HDD: high capacity and reliable.

GTX 770: I considered this and the 960, but my friend hand this to me for cheap.

Elite 130 : Interesting part. There is so many good looking mITX cases; however, the Elite 130 wins for my build, not too bulky and can even fit a long GPU. It take quite a lot of work to assemble parts into the case since I have big hand. But it can be done.

Corsair 600M : semi modular so I can hide away something I don't need. 600W should be enough for any demanding card.

Nice build. Well done on the prices of the parts. Could have done a bit better on the PSU, but the Corsair should do fine. It also looks quite neat. Can we get a couple of pictures of the finished product maybe?

I don't know what might have prompted the nationality question, but these 2 sentences sound funny, don't they?

'It take quite a lot of work to assemble parts into the case since I have big hand.' :D

Good job on the OCs as well? What voltage did the 4690k take to get a stable 4.5GHz? Have you had a hand at OCing the 770?

Good to hear you like my build.

For the PSU, 600W is fine for now. But I will probably upgrade it in the future.

This is my first mini build. Seriously, those things are tightly packed.

I achieved 4.5GHz at 1.23V. Not bad, for buying CPU for overclock is a lottery :D

I did some cable management. It look quite better now. Will update pics as soon as I can

The CPU is fine power wise. I meant quality, but it's not bad quality wise either, just average I guess.

What kind of games can you run and do they run on Ultra??

Just some casual gaming such as Bioshock Inf and CS:GO. Tried Crysis 3 and Metro last light and they run highest preset without problem on 1080p. I mainly use it for my project and rendering parts for school. SInce my laptop take too long with GT 630M.
