First off i would like to say thanks to Phillip and manirelli. Great site.
A friend gave me the CPU and the SSD. I game him ~125 as thank you, (had 68 cents in my pocket when i was paying him, so i gave it to him). He gave me some rules for this build, No AMD. (He gave me a CPU for free and a SSD for cheap, i couldnt say no). I had been running on a lenovo laptop. Specs, i7- 2360. 8g ram. I think a 250m gpu. 750 WD HDD. Win 7 home. I was getting 10- 20 fps on minecraft on the lowest settings. 10-25 fps on tf2 lowest setting. I got a solid 23 in CSS. I was able to do light gaming, (hardly). So then i built this.
NOTE* Cm isnt the best but for my first time i thought i did good.
CPU- Awesome, have not over clocked yet, will post when i do.
CPU Cooler- I love it, it looks amazing and its not loud.
MOBO- Love how it looks. I like how it has fans on the mobo that you can change and dust filters!.
Ram- Love how it looks, works well.
SSD- ITS SO FAST. I don't know how i could not have this before, i am going from 5-10min boot times, to 15 seconds!. Its amazing.
HDD- for all my games and such.
GPU- I didnt want a gpu that costed more than my CPU. So i got the 760 with ATX Cooling. Its a big jump from 10fps on minecraft, Will post more once i really start using it.
WNA- Does not work with WIN 8... got a usb one.
CM Stryker, I love it, its huge, its awesome, its white, and its huge. Cable management was not easy, but once i figured it out it went ok. Love the fans and LED.
PSU- love it, it was awesome, my only thought would be to make the holes for the cables on the left side of the unit. Better for cable management.
ODD- works, nothing special.
Win 8-..... i love it. Took me 30 minutes to get used to but it has a faster boot time i have heard (than win 7), love all the apps, AND you can go to a desktop mode, thats a lot like 7. I dont get what all the fuss about it is..
Splinter cell came with the GPU, not my type of game so i wount say any thing one it.
In review, I had fun building it, the worst part was putting the CPU in the mobo, it was terrifying, you have to push, hard. I was so nervous. It works and looks nice. Any suggestions are welcome and noted. Once agian thanks PCPartPicker.
