Description

WANTED A RELIABLE UNIT WITH ALL WEI SCORES TO BE ABOVE 7 FOR NEAR MINIMUM COST, SUCCEEDED FOR $490 EXCLUDING OS. CPU 7.5 RAM 7.6 GRAPHICS 7.3 7.3 AND HD SSD 7.7 PICKED UP MOST OF THE PIECES AT MICROCENTER, SAVED AN ADDITIONAL $40 ON CPU MOBO COMBO DEAL, BUT PAID SALES TAX. THE CASE I GOT WAS ACTUALLY A THERMAL MASTER WITH POWER SUPPLY FOR $37, BUT THE POWER SUPPLY WAS DEAD DOA. I WENT WITH THE SEASONIC ,IT HAD THE LEAST NEGATIVE REVIEWS, THE CORSAIR 430 CX HAD A LOT OF UNITS FAILING, BUT WERE REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY. I PROBABLY WON'T USE MICROCENTER IN STORE PICK UP AGAIN, DO TO TRAFFIC AND DISTANCE, 200 MILES ROUND TRIP, AND 5 TO 7 HOURS DRIVING TIME, PLUS GAS! I PICKED UP AN OPEN BOX GTX550 TI FROM EBAY FOR $70 SHIPPED. $20 FOR LG CD RW OPTICAL DRIVE. THE BIOSTAR MOTHERBOARD IS GREAT FOR THE PRICE, BUT HAS VERY LIMITED OVERCLOCKING ABILITIES, I MAY GET A Z77 BOARD IF I SEE A GOOD DEAL IN THE NEXT FEW MONTHS

Thanks for all of the great Comments, I like to do things in person most of the time, I wanted to see for myself how Micro Center compared to FRY's and Best Buy. Great store, I just wish there was one closer, they seem to have the lowest priced CPU / MB combos, but the drive for me eats up the savings.

I have a question for anyone that wishes to comment on, Are there any refrigerated cooling systems on the market, like your refridgerator, or air conditioner in your car using freon. Also have you heard of anyone just puting the pc inside of a refridgerator or freezer.

ROAD TRIP!!! Did you see anything cool on your road trip? You probably spent %10 of your total cost on this computer JUST ON THE ROAD TRIP!!!! I want to see some pictures of this build or I'll be left to believe this is a troll post.

Refridgerator or freezer is a bad idea. Too much condensation.

Yeah, 45 is not too bad. 200? That's just silly. Oh well, can't save everybody from themselves..

This is a Real Build,What don't you believe about it? I've been slow to post pictures, I'll get around to it in about a week or so. I think there is a way to lower the humiditiy , how do frost free refers work, I think you just need to add fans. Have you seen the you tube videos where the guys pour liquid nitrogen on their processors to overclock to the max for a few importatant seconds. Thanks for the interest ....Chipspeed

There is nothing more dangerous to a computer than a user whose level of knowledge is lower than his level of desire to tinker and upgrade. Before trying to pioneer a new method of cooling, you may want to brush up on your tech knowledge in general. This isn't meant as an insult, just a word of caution.

45 miles one way = 90 mi round trip , spend an hour in the store and get stuck in traffic, shopping trip could turn into 4 hours easily. If you make $50 an hour the trip would be worth $200. actually I did several real life benchmark tests , not upgrading but down grading to a g530 dual core from the 3570K and I could not notice any real world difference , boot times and frame rates in metro 2033 and crysis 2 within 10%, most software is engineered for one or 2 cores, I guess in video editing I would see a lot of difference. My question was is there any freon cpu coolers out there yet, same tech as your refridgerator, there are plenty of water systems, very low tech in my opinion thanks for the reply
