I built Pandora's Box as the do all machine, whether it be for gaming or for productivity. After obtaining my Bachelors in Interactive Media & Game Design, I felt that this was the perfect price to performance build that fits my specifications. Looks great, fast, powerful and is ready to handle anything thrown at it.
As far as gaming goes, it manages to push my framerates in MechWarrior Online above 100fps regularly. I mention this because MWO is brutal as it uses the Cry Engine 3 and is poorly optimized. Prior to this build, my previous pcs could only hit 49fps at its highest in quickplay or faction play. I haven't tried to stress test the GPU yet but I plan on doing so sometime within the week, Using games like Doom 2016, Prey and Alien Isolation.
As far as what went well, aesthetically this build looks great with its all black components and the surprisingly minimal RGB (Which with the RGB active looks gorgeous, making less is more a good way to describe the RGB effect. Piecing the components together was super easy and cable management was made easier with NZXT's innovative cable guides.
As far as difficulty goes, The Windows installer I purchased was damaged and made driver installation a living nightmare. After trying everything to get windows to identify my GPU (failing all attempts) I realized that it was the Windows installer. after downloading a windows installation tool to a USB stick, the issues was fixed and the drivers were properly installed.
All in all, I am quite happy with this build. It is a great first build to begin my game design career. Feel free to provide comments and helpful tips.
